Re: Offaly Hurling Squad
Isn't Joe Bardy invited back also? O'Meara is a fine hurler. Very unlucky last year. Hope he enjoys his travels. If Birr keep going, there'll be an interesting team selections for the first four and presumably all our league games.

Re: Sean Ryan - Decision Time
He loves his football so I can't see him quitting it. I'd hope the other hurlers called into the football squad decline the offer.

Re: Birr vs. that KK crowd
That was one of the sweetest Birr victories. Up there with Clarecastle in 1997. I heard that the Ballyhale manager was less than magnanimous in the Birr dsressing room after. He said Birr were lucky, Ballyhale were missing their best players and that they will beat Birr next year, if we get out of O...

Re: Birr vs. that KK crowd
It must be remembered that the Reid's scored 1-16 of the 1-20 that Ballyhale got in the county final. Birr will give it a right rattle, but will come up just short.

I was going through some Offaly stuff I had in a bag and found my ticket for the Hogan Stand. I have it framed now, on top of the telly. I cry tears of joy everytime I see it, and the last few minutes of madness that was 1994. Oh, what memories!!!!

Think I'll go to the finals in Croke Park on October 27th. Chance to see a hurling match under lights.

Joe Dooley
I think this is a bad move also. As said already, he has bo experience. As regards, Kirwan, Fogarty and Errity, they were the alternative management team. Joe was part of the selection committee but pulled out to add his name to the other two's bid.

Leinster Hurling Draw 2008
According to today's Indo, Wexford and Kilkenny are seeded into separate semis. From what I can gather, although I think it's badly written, we play Westmeath and Dublin play Laois in the quarters. The draw's for the semi's will be made in 2 weeks.

Offaly back in Div 1?
I heard a rumour at the weekend that we are back in Div 1 with a group compromising Tipp, Clare, Limerick, Galway and Laois. Anyone else hear this?

Gym Membership
I see from the Offaly accounts printed in the Midland Tribune that the footballers had over 2k spent on gym membership while the hurling figure was 500. Now, aren't all players entitled to gym membership being paid for them? If this is the case, why in the name of Jaysus, is the hurling figure so low.

Daly
I think he wouldn't be too bad. He got the best out of a very avegage bunch of hurlers, got them to two AI semi's and should have beaten Cork in the 2005 one.
