Best of luck to John, a great appointment.
Cop yourself on Townman, you are getting ridiculous now.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurling Management 2012
Ollie Baker should have been able to appoint his own selectors. He is a Garda based in Tullamore and should know plenty about the Offaly scene having hurled against many of our best in the 90's. God help us if his best is to pick PM, who was a great servant to Offaly but his day is well and truly do...

Re: McManus ends Offaly career
One of the great warriors of modern day football, who provoked all sorts of emotion amongst the crowd. As in "what did he do that for?" to "how did he do that?". He never gave less than 100% and always kept himself in great shape. Also the fact that he commuted and trained alone ...

Re: McNamee to kildare
Imagine if they spent a fortune signing the real Niall Mc, which one would turn up? The one that kicks the handy ones wide or the spell binding talent who can destroy a backline though his sheer skill and ball winning ability!!?? I would not rule this out just yet, his outburst over the Offaly manag...

Re: Gerry cooney
2006 not successful? Twas the last time we were in a Leinster final? Fair enough that regime had its ups and downs but i think if he deserves his chance. I wish him all the best, Carr seems like a good appointment to work alongside and Ginger has done well with Tubber and has the best interests of O...

Re: Junior A Football
I would say the big man coming back in for the final had an impact on team togetherness alright, but not as much as the impact he had later on! Club is in a right mess, they need to get their house in order big time, also in relation to underage too. They dont have as big an impact on the St Vincent...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurling Management 2012
Was there a big disparity between how the hurling manager has been chosen and the process in place for the football manager? Do we know the full list of Ollie Bakers backroom team & selectors? The football entrants had to declare their full package before a decision was made, surely this is the ...

Re: Life, Death & Hurling, The Michael Duignan Story
Aye, The Club was one of my favourite books. Profiteering was a kinder word than what I was thinking of, and I'll say no more. As i say he has benefitted more than most and I would like to see some of the lads in the background but who played a bigger role taking what would be a great opportunity to...

Re: Life, Death & Hurling, The Michael Duignan Story
I will probably be shot down for saying this and I dont know the man that well but there seems to be an element of profiteering involved in this and I wont elaborate to much. Suffice to say he has benefitted more than many of his colleagues from his involvement in inter county hurling and has suffer...

Re: Junior A Football
Well done to Cappincur on their great win over Daingean. I have to say that the Senior & Junior A championship winning teams are a great example to other teams that hard work & a strong team ethic will go a long way. Cappincur's use of the ball in posession and their kicking was top class an...

Re: new football manager
Pat Teehan should have insisted that the committees were kept at a manageable five instead of giving in to the mob mentality. This is the key, all we want is leadership and it aint happening. If the truth be known back during the Richie debacle, Teehan should have called that at the time , but unfor...

Re: If you are withdrawing from the football manager job rac
Heard Trapatoni was seen leaving The Tap in the early hours last night after they agreed to pay half his wages and to only serve the Offaly players red wine! He was quoted as saying he believed we had a strong pub culture but were more refined than the Irish soccer players and could be tempted to dr...

Re: Corrigan calls for Parish Teams
One more point is around the U21 set up, if Colemans were serious about laying down a marker for a Senior team there should be a more coordinated effort to try and win an u21, they could really knucle down and get a panel together early as this is a championship that could well be won with a little ...
