Re: Offaly Senior Hurling Club Championship 2011

I hope Coolderry have a some of their Management team in Parnell park tonight to check out their potential opponents in Leinster. O' Tooles face off against St Brigids. Both teams have made alot of progress this year. Ballyboden face Lucan Sarsfields. Boden chasing a five in a row. Lucan have been a...

Re: Clara vs Edenderry 9/10/11

Apologies redlad. Only read it again. I didnt phrase it the best alright. I thought that area was weak from a defensive point for ye. Good ball players but tend to leave alot of space where they should be when they push too far forward. I think the Edenderry management did well to notice that and ac...

Re: Clara vs Edenderry 9/10/11

i think Edenderry win wasn't that much of a shock, Clara have a history of losing final's they were suppose to win tullamore done the same to them a few years ago i don't know do the clara players let it go to there heads or are a soft touch in a final, just a question i'am putting out there would ...

Re: Clara vs Edenderry 9/10/11

Well done to Edenderry. Great team effort. The management team should be very proud of what they have done with this group of players. Maybe they might be the right option for the county gig now if they would go near it. Conditions didnt help yesterday and it was a terribly poor standard of football...

RexHamilton wrote:Did anyone notice that in the semi finals Edenderry players and Clara players made a habit of kicking the ball over the bar in an attepmt to beat the opposition, this tactic will probably be used next Sunday as well.

Very good, excellent stuff.

Yes, Sylvesters and Parnells are just full of great club men. Lads that would do anything for their Parish. The real spirit of the GAA.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurling Club Championship 2011

Have to agree with LS on a few points. 1. Brian Watkins did have a good game. And he has been consistently good. His clearances are a little rushed sometimes. He is very very quick to react to breaks and clear his lines. I think he can be a little too hurried by times. His opponent Healy won a bit o...

Re: Clara vs Edenderry 9/10/11

By matter of interest Long John would you be willing to admit that John Reynolds has been Clara's stand out performer this year and if Clara are able to get over the line Sunday will almost certainly be named player of the year. Id imagine on the Edenderry side that Sean Pender is the main candidat...

Re: Clara vs Edenderry 9/10/11

Well said Magpie, the better footballers dont always win in a final. I cant see Clara throwing it away like Shamrocks did that day. Cruising at half time and really should have been double the lead they had. Then a dribbly goal and a mixture of some lads dropping the heads and poor decisions on the...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurling Club Championship 2011

Two terribly disappointing games. Both winners were far superior to their opponents. Rynaghs and KK are still miles off away from being genuine contenders. Ryan had a good game for Birr. Super ball going in to him though. I thought Dylan Hayden used the ball brilliantly most of the time. Birr are ve...

Re: Clara vs Edenderry 9/10/11

I just don't see this as a great pairing for the final as Clara will win easily. Hmmm. This reminds me of the countdown to the 2007 County Final when both myself and Lone Shark thought that Shamrocks would beat Tullamore fairly easily. All the same arguments were made: - the stronger outfit - if th...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Club Championship 2011

Clara were full value for their win. Tactically they got it right and to be honest Rhode got it wrong. I thought Rhode lacked hunger for this game and you could see that in alot of their players. The McPaddens were thrown in and they were totally lost. The positioning of Ciaran Heavey another silly ...

Re: Intermediate Hurling

They played in the Leinster junior B championship also. Lisdowney of Kilkenny beat them in the semi final of that. Think the game was played last February. So it appears they will be hurling well into the winter again.

Re: “Shameful” if Lusmagh and Shamrocks stay Senior

In fairness to POTH I can see clearly what he is saying and I dont think anyone can disagree with it. The person in question is full of crap. He knows feck all really about GAA but thinks he is this great analyst. He's full of crap to put it nicely. POTH is not saying that the relegated teams deserv...
