There is a five minute interview clip with Sean Grennan and Boylan, and after it goes back to the studio, SEE THE STATE OF OROURKES GLASSES? For Gods sake, it was 1995, were things that bad then?

Seanie Johnston thing is a complete joke at this stage, and will set a dangerous precedent for the GAA. A teacher working in Cavan living in Kildare and looking to play football in Kildare. Did Kildare fix him up with a little filly to while a way the lonely nights in Straffan aswell???
Re: Offaly versus Kildare 16th June 2012
Offaly football just has not got players like Grennan and Mooney anymore. Big strong men who did not need a gym. They took everything a team would throw at them and they would dish it back twice as hard. Real men. What we have now is lads with the hair gelled up, taped up sleeves of their jersey, fancy boots and now the latest sock trend.
That team in 95 were well beaten by a very strong Meath team and they learned that if they could match the fitness then they had a shot. The football was in them. Two years later they proved that. I just dont think there is anything in our current crop. Attitude is all wrong.

Ah, God be with the good old days of Offaly football in 1995. I remember it well, as Meath hung on by their fingernails to a 10 point victory, with Offaly peppering the Meath goal for the last 45 minutes of the game and were extremely unlucky just to register 1 point in that time. That day will long be remembered in the KJ household as we lit bonfires on the roadside to welcome back the heroes of '95. Then we met up with the players in the pubs around Offaly and they let us buy them free drink for a week and they were sound about it. We all agreed that we were all great.
We may never see the likes of it again. Long live the men of '95!

I've no problem with hair gel or taped up sleeves. I'm sure if Paul Galvin and Bernard Brogan moved to Geashill in the morning The Brewery Tap would sponsor enough gel and tape to do them a lifetime. It's the players under the gel in Offaly that are the problem.
Also I remember Navan 95, what a miserable day, both for the weather and Offaly football. Spent an hour under my da's jacket for shelter and only missed one Offaly score. Colm O'Rourkes last big outing? Or am I wrong. Remember him coming off the bench with more knee supports than fingers and kicking two huge points.

Not with that attitude we wont
That's the problem with this county, too busy talking about the past and not enough people looking to the future

Apparently it's this (Sunday) evening. And it's Westmeath again. First it was Westmeath, then Longford. Then Longford pulled out again and Westmeath stepped in again.

Any truth that Offaly were hammered 3-19 to 1-11 by Sligo last night in a challenge? If so God help us in Portlaoise!!
