Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2022
I listened to a recent interview by Mark O Se and he was dead right in what he said.
This second tier championship in my opinion has the feel of falling on its face before it even started and the blame will fall totally with the GAA.
These games should be on before some of the all Ireland quarter finals etc try make it attractive for players to compete be interesting to see how the championship pans out.

Look no excuses, they have to go and give the competition their best. Anytime you pull on your club or county jersey in a competitive game no matter what grade, a player owes it to themselves and the team they represent to perform to the max of their efforts.
This fixture offers a great opportunity for redemption. Lets be honest, the championship performance was absolute garbage, Park it now, players number 1 and management number 2 have a chance to right the wrongs of that game.
Psychologically, It is the worst possible draw for wexford. There is significant pressure on them now that they have to win to prove they are a better team. a loss and it questions the first result. Was it just offaly having a bad day and in disrupted with injuries.
For Offaly, the draw to me is a good one. They should be very driven now to beat wexford in their back garden. Management should be very determined to try win this competition. If they bow out meekily without pushing hard to win the competition, the management will leave with a disappointing legacy.
I think there is a great opportunity now to get something positive from the season.

And for all of ye "fans" that didn't go the last day here is your opportunity again!
But in all fairness..talk about making a bollix of it....but if there's anything in our lads they'll surely not want to get beaten twice by Wexford.
Did me stint that last day in Wexford though and won't be back there again until next year at the earliest.
Good luck to the lads.

Away again unfortunately.
If the players are eager to atone for the loss in Leinster, they should go down and win this.
If they are going through the motions they'll get another boot in the hole.

Any update on whether injuries have cleared up?
Joey O'Connor gone from the panel according to John Maughan on local paper last week.
Only met up once it seems since the championship match last Tuesday night. At least we just have to replicate the Dubs game plan and we're sorted!

I see it's fixed for Sunday 2pmin Bellefield Enniscorthy. That's Raparees Grounds, nice tidy grounds, obviously not expecting much of a crowd?

Strange one. If Wexford were serious about winning they'd bring us back to Wexford Park which is the GAA equivalent of a links golf course - near the sea, exposed to the wind, hard surface, parched grass.Geansai Gorm wrote: ↑Mon May 16, 2022 6:49 pm I see it's fixed for Sunday 2pmin Bellefield Enniscorthy. Maybe they feel sorry for us and want to shorten our journey home?

Any word in relation to this at all from the camp?.
Never mind the shite in the paper about how we'll give this a go and all that.
Don't need to know the line out or anything but if we intend to give this a lash then there must be some changes from last time....(presume Niall and Ruairi will be 2, is Jack B still out?.....presume Keith O'Neill available.
This few options will give forward line some threat.

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2022
Good game against Wexford. Offaly looked in bother at half time with only a 2 point lead but managed the 2nd half better.
Wexford kicked some nice points from distance but Offaly did well to maintain possession for long spells to keep them at bay.
Wicklow next. Any idea on the venue?
They've only played Offaly in Tullamore once in championship and that was a replay in 1994.
