Just when we thought that at least Westmeath would have no more luck than we had.
WESTMEATH made a timely return to form and earned an unlikely passage back to Division 1 at Drogheda yesterday with a deserved win over an experimental Louth side.
The hosts fielded just six of the side that won promotion against Waterford two weeks ago and it was clear from early in the game that Eamonn McEneaney and his players had one eye on next week's Division 2 semi-final against Limerick.
Feckin Louth hoors - a full team and they probably would have won. Bollix to it anyway.
(This rant is in no way inspired by the fact that I backed Louth at 13/10 to win this game ..... )
Typical of them.
It would be poetic justice if they picked up a couple of suspensions in the knockouts and ended up frantically taking out High Court injunctions in order to have a team to play us.
