Another great win for Paschal as a manager with Monasterevan reaching the Leinster Club Intermediate final beating Cuala of Dublin 1-14 to 0-09.

One of the strangest games I have heard of, the Leinster IFC Final.
Monasterevin trailed by 1pt to no score at half time! thats right , 1 pt to 0!!
With 10 mins left they were trailing by 3 pts to 1 and came with what can only be described as a scoring blitz to win 4pts to 3, incredible stuff!!. For a good forward, Pascal clearly has a handle on the defensive side of things.

Paschal seems to have done a good job of finding game plans that are suited to the team at his disposal, while he also seems to have done a good job of shedding the notion that there is a set way to play the game, and that all any manager should do is tinker around the edges of the basic style. Basic long ball football is a joy to watch when executed well - as we saw from Dr Crokes at the weekend, who put on an exhibition against Castlehaven. Crossmaglen are usually a joy to watch as well, but their game at the weekend made the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

However these two teams have one thing in common - they have a massive pick, and within that pick are some supremely talented individuals who would grace any county team in Ireland, never mind a club side. If you don't have that, you have to cut your cloth to suit and do something different - which in fairness, Paschal is well able to do.

It's probably too soon for him to manage Rhode, but I'd love to see him take on another senior club in Offaly and see how he fares. It's a pity that it seems to be clubs in Meath and Kildare that are benefiting from his expertise.
Kevin Egan. Signed out of respect for players and all involved with Offaly.
