Another faller!

Offaly County Board was plunged even further(er) into crisis when it was announced that pop group Westlife had pulled out of the race to succeed Tom Cribben as football manager.

The dispute apparently arose over the Offaly board's insistence that Bryan McFadden be included as a selector in any backroom team.

In their first interview, the four man group (Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily and Shane Filan) laid out their blueprint for Offaly in 2012. However negotiations have since broken down.

Westlife's new single "Lighthouse" will be released in November, with a greatest hits collection reaching stores in time for Christmas.
The band planned to do one last farewell U.K. tour next May, before taking up the reins in Offaly.

The search for a Tom Cribben's replacement has suffered another sensational blow following the withdrawal of one of the top candidates, Mr. Blobby.

Seen pictured above with one of his proposed selectors, Mr. Blobby, left the race with a broadside against the Offaly County Board who he feels is solely responsible for the turmoil the county is currently in. In a far ranging and cutting interview, Mr. Blobby takes a swipe at just about every aspect of managerial process and the county board in general.

"Blobby blobby blobby, blobby blobby blobby process. Blobby blobby blobby, 7 man committee, blobby blobby blobby blobby!! Blobby blobby blobby communication, blobby blobby blobby blobby laughing stock!!"

"In today's economic climate, blobby blobby blobby blobby, blobby blobby blobby, blobby blobby, underage structures."

"Blobby, blobby blobby blobby, pride and tradition, blobby blobby blobby, blobby blobby, blobby blobby nowhere!"

-----------------------

Fair play to Mr. Blobby, he tells it like it is.

Now that Gadaffy is out of the running, how about this man?

Image
(Seen here telling the Tehran Gaels full back line to go one on one as he changes from the sweeper system)

He has proven leadership skills, he's used to going up against opponents with larger population bases, he has experience dealing with old committees in the background who secretly want to run the show so he'd be well able for Ayatollah Mick Sheridan and the like, and I think he'd be keen to impart a whole new approach to alcohol in the county.

Surely we have a winner?

Pyongyang, North Korea.

21st October 2011.

Offaly County Board was reeling from the news that Kim Jong-Ill had pulled out of the race to succeed Tom Cribben as football manager.

Speaking from his Palace in Pyongyang in an exclusive interview with Edenderrygaa.com, Jong Il launched a stinging broadside at the selection process for the post.

“The Dear Leader will never answer to a seven-man committee - not once, never mind twice.

What kind of a Politburo does Comrade Teehan think it is running?

Comrade Ballycumber away in Santa Ponsa, Comrade Cappincur at the Charlaois Breeders convention in Cavan, Comrade Clara in Mejegore.

To think this was the same Politburo of the Great Wartime Leader Comrade Barney ‘fight tooth and nail’ Ward?

It’s a good job they wouldn’t let me take the RPG onto the train in Heuston or I would have taken them all out of it - and the Tullamore Court Hotel with it.

I expect Russian prostitutes and vintage cognac after my big train journey – instead I am subjected to Big Tom and muck porter in the Furlong Bar? “

Tom Coffey got off the mark with his new Athlone side, with a 1-8 to 0-5 win over the Downs in the first round of the championship. Very impressive win

Just heard this report on the wireless, its hardly true??
NEWSFLASH NEWSFLASH
Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid had a crucial 2 - 1 win last night in the El Classico v Barcelona at the Nou Camp in Spain's top flight football league "La Liga". It leaves them seven points clear of Barcelona with 4 games remaining leaving Mourinho in a position that he will win his fourth top level league in his fourth country having won previously in Portugal (Porto), England (Chelsea) and Italy (Inter Milan). He is also in contention to win his third champions league with his third club in a third country, a feat that has never been achieved by any manager in the history of the game. He has won previously with Inter Milan and Porto.

Despite this, rumours remain of unrest in Madrid with the security of his job in question with reported disagreements with the owners of Real Madrid. In recent weeks he has been reported to be weighing up his options and has become on of the favorites to take over a new management role at Chelsea FC in the UK where he previosly had a lot of success. He has also been linked with the new managerial vacancy with the Offaly Senior Football team in the Republic of Ireland though doubts remain as to how the Offaly county board might finance this appointment after the recent resignation of manager Gerry Cooney!
