Re: LIP SERVICE AND WEAKER COUNTIES.
I agree. Any team is capable of causing an upset in one match. Look at Ireland in euro 1988 or USA 1994. With the right attitude, belief, skills and desire it can be done. Look at Fermanagh in the football this year. But the problem is that most teams going in against the Cats know that one mistake ...

Re: LIP SERVICE AND WEAKER COUNTIES.
you can't compare county teams to premiership teams to be honest. County teams cannot just buy in new players
International teams are more apt. You get the very odd shock in minnows vs superpower games
but generally the cream always rises to the top.

Re: LIP SERVICE AND WEAKER COUNTIES.
The same is happening in all sports to be honest Soccer - only a few teams can realistically win a competition. At International level or club Rugby - WC - only four teams could ever win it. Gaelic Football - about 6 teams can realistically win Sam even sports that are regulated so that the same tea...

Re: FAO: Johnny Flaherty
if 11 year olds are playing U14 then any club has to look around and ask where are the 13 and 14 year olds?
every child must be identified and got out when they are 6 or 7 then keep them playing.

Re: FAO: Johnny Flaherty
if the county board cannot get their act together it is up to clubs themselves to get their act together. there are clubs up in Roscommon who are EMPLOYING part time coaches to do coaching in their feeder primary schools. these coaches are organising mini leagues etc during the spring and winter and...

Re: Hurling Rules being ignored
1. add in the constant tapping of opponents by the Kilkenny forwards' hurleys. using the hurley to strike an opponent is a bookable offence btw 2. also, putting the hurley (in the right hand) and left arm around the body of the opponent to stop them lifting their hands or hurley to play the ball. th...

Re: New Style Vs Old School
Intensity in training is what gets you ready for championship games - playing and training after concentrating on core fitness work and basic skills over a couple of months!! if the team are deficient in any of the 'extra' areas you might try and address them as a manager. one at a time. first maybe...
