Re: Offaly v Westmeath, Mullingar, Sunday 1st May

I just want to pick up on this. Hurling has become a team game in recent years, as opposed to a game for individuals where yo 'bate' the ball as long and as far as you can and it was up to the next fella to win his own ball, no matter how it came to him. Item: the series of high, lobbing, dropping ...

Re: Offaly v Westmeath, Mullingar, Sunday 1st May

Problem lies with how badly underage has been neglected going back to the early 90's. The only successful underage teams that I can remember was in 2000 with minors and under 21s winning Leinster. Both beating Kilkenny along the way. Two very decent sides with a lot of passionate players within both...

Re: Allianz Hurling League Roinn 1B 2016

If the reason they lost yesterday was down to attitude and work rate then there is a big bloody problem that needs to be addressed. Can we stop fussing over where Offaly hurlers play their games now and concentrate on how we can get some sort of pride back in Offaly hurling and the respect this coun...

Re: Leinster Club Championship

Hard luck to coolderry. A good hurling club. I felt coolderry would struggle badly. They have a very small team particularly in attack. Against a big physical fit team they were always going to struggle especially in horrible conditions like today. And some key men are not as fit as you would like. ...

Re: Offaly Senior Club Championship

The standard is dreadful. Rynaghs, Brigids, and surprisingly Ferbane are very weak. You look at Rhode who are nowhere near the team they were and they are still cruising along without much effort. Edenderry, Clara, and Tullamore not as strong as they have been at stages over the last 15 years but st...

Re: Offaly Hurling Championships 2015

Id be looking at the likes of clareen for example. They stuttered their way to victory the other night against a team who are in chaos and juggling football championship aswell. Clareen are a team training only for hurling which is a massive advantage on its own. Yet they struggle badly to get a win...

Re: Offaly Hurling Championships 2015

Yes its nice to win a title here and there but if a team is in senior hurling they should have 20 hurlers that they are willing to play. A few clubs in the county hold players every year to win an auld junior championship. On a totally different note, I wonder how weak is senior hurling in the count...

Re: League Quarter-Final Offaly Vs Tipperary, 29 March 3pm

Townman is taking a fair few slaps and Fifitrixibelle hasnt even started yet. God help Townman Sunday evening or Monday morning when it really starts. Please dont start the anti OCP crap again. Its a top class facility and Birr is not fit for hosting these games. Get over it and move on. As for the ...
