Re: offaly 2013

Delighted to hear Stephen Byrne has been appointed as selector for next year as far as im concerned its a very positive move by Ollie Baker. Byrne is a guy that knows the hurling scene inside out,a young positive coach with all the attributes to be a top manager some day. Good appointment for all co...

Re: Hurling Championship

Paul Clearly hurled an impressive game at FB with Rory and Barry Whelahan being the pick of the rest.[/quote] Have to agree Paul Cleary was outstanding but at no stage was he full back,Barry Harding hurled full back! Rory Hanniffy was the best player on the field and with Offaly selectors at the mat...

Re: CLUB HURLING MANAGERS 2012

Danny Owens is the new KK manager for 2012, he defeated Stephen Byrne in a secret ballot at Friday nights adjourned agm. I'm hearing rumours of players in K/K not being happy with this appointment and poor turnouts for training, anyone else hear the same? If the players arent happy it doesnt bode we...

Re: Offaly Senior Inter County Hurling 2012

Rory is the best centre back around. If he played at 6 the whole time i go to say the best in ireland and kenny is just class at full back so why change these guys out of these positions. That wud be like puttin kinahan at 6 and hubie rigney at mid field. Play lads in their best positions. I have t...

Re: Offaly Senior Inter County Hurling 2012

i believe galway, tipp, limerick and cork are all back training weeks now. and apparently Kilkenny and dublin players were given gym programmes in early novemver and have been assessed on them already, and have now began their hurling and skill training. I'm not saying we're too late, but shouldnt ...

Re: CLUB HURLING MANAGERS 2012

Kinnitty have a joint management/coaching team of Eoghan and Colm Hanley from Shannon. They trained Clare to win the Junior All Ireland Camogie Championship in 2009. Interesting appointment from Kinnitty I really thought Mick Molloy would get the job! Are the Hanleys brothers? Did they manage any c...

Re: offaly senior hurling squad 2012

good to see Brendan Murphy, Frank's, and Rory Hanniffy staying on this year. Daniel Currams is gone to the footballer's but in getting Sean Ryan back into the hurling panel will cover for Currams going its a pity because we could do with everyone on board. Diarmuid Horan is also back in full traini...

Best of luck to Niall with his fight against this horrible addiction,it takes a good man to go public with his problems and I hope to see him back playing with club and county in the near future!
