Re: Antrim v Offaly
if you go back to last year in the back door match against monaghan you saw a great display of football from offaly, players like mcmanus, deehan, reynolds etc. now cooney doesn't have them there and he could well do with them. it took mcmanus to come out and say that what players needed to be broug...

Re: U21 Football Management
I wasn't at the game last night but i have been reading the Meath Forum on Hogan stand and from what i can gather their impression is that we threw 13 men behind the ball Donegal style and hit them on the break. Now i'm by no means a football purist and i understand that this is a results business b...

Re: Offaly v Longford National League
Since the title of the thread is on the Longford game i thought i'd throw in my two scents As far as the overall picture of the season goes progress for me would be promotion to division two this year even if we went out at the first round of the championship The fact the we have stayed so long in t...

Re: Question for LoneShark
[quote="Lone Shark"]I'm a little uneasy here continuing a discussion about a lad that I don't know that well personally, while he's still a schoolgoer as well. yeah fair enough, I'm certainly not trying to heap pressure on the lad, i was only wondering how he hadn't to my knowledge played ...

Re: Question for LoneShark
I wasn't trying to run the lad down by any means, and there's no question but he has a lot going for him. He has a good physique, he uses the ball well and is able to take a score when the opportunity arises. Guys have won All Stars with less natural ability than him, but I wouldn't say he's necess...

Re: Question for LoneShark
I don't think it's being unfair to Leon to say that there are some strong points to his game, and some aspects that would need work as well. Certainly he's a big lad and one that's capable of going a long way in the game if he wants to - indeed he'd be capable of a lot if he chooses to focus on hur...

Question for LoneShark
Just want to ask Lone Shark a question, i'm not sure if its been covered here before so apologies if it has but i'm sure with Sharky being a Ferbane man and all he might be able to answer this. Young Leon Fox the lad who played centre field for Gallen CS last year and Ferbane minors as well, is ther...

Re: o byrne cup vs kildare
just one little thing did we not say all this when Tom Cribbin took over offaly that we need to build for 2 to 3 years he got his wish but we are still no better off 3 years down the line. i have a feeling we will be saying the same when Gerry Cooney rides into the sunset :( Just a couple of differ...

Re: o byrne cup vs kildare
I never was so embarrassed as i was today in newbridge, it has to be the worst offaly team i ever seen the only players worth holding on to ken casey, richie dalton, kevin meehan, ross brady, darby, mcconway, pender, derek kelly, smith the rest you could put a blanket over need to bring back alan mcnamee,s...

Re: new football manager
You'll have to forgive me i'm in a somewhat philosophical mood at the moment and felt the need to get it down on the page so to speak. Whats been quite clear throughout this whole fiasco is that the process to find the manager had been doomed from the start with self inflicted sabotage coming from t...

Re: new football manager
Found this on the Offaly Express website Don't know how true it is in terms of the writers opinion or if it is indeed fact but if it is true and it is typical of clubs around Offaly i would be very very worried ONCE again this week Offaly is in the national sporting headlines for all the wrong reaso...

Re: new football manager
any word on new football manager Tom Coffie's got it Sown up i'd say, he had it in the bag as soon as the managment selection committie was picked. the lads on the board won't look outside of their cozy little world of Offaly Football, that's not a slight against Tom i just think that the board wil...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Club Championship 2011
Sorry lads i know this is off topic but i was checking out the results section of the Offaly Website and i noticed their were a few 0-0 scores in the minor and u-16 sections from last weekend. Just wondering what the story is, were they walk overs? were they abandoned after an amount of time played...
