Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024

Note from the seating plan issued online elsewhere, row A is at the back of the stand and not at the front. Something I recall from 2003's Leinster semi-final, probably the last time they had reserved seating at the venue.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024

Carlow's relegation confirms that this year's Joe McDonagh cup winners will have home fixtures against Galway and Antrim, and away fixtures against Dublin, Kilkenny and Wexford in next year's Leinster Senior hurling championship. (The reverse of Carlow's fixtures this year.)

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024

Don't underestimate the value of having this final at a Leinster venue.

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024

I was on the terrace in the section to the right of centre. There was plenty of room there. I'd say 8k was about right. I was expecting the figure to be slightly less. Do you mean there was only 8000 in total at the KK game last week - 5000 adults and 3000 u16’s????? I’d say in the region of 12-1400...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024

Just great to get back to Croke Park.

And great that there'll be at least one team training at the Faithful Fields for another four weeks.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024

That's grand. Let them be raging hot favourites for the Final. Pressure all on them. If they're beating everyone by 7 goals and 26 points, they'll surely do it in Croke Park too. Job is Oxo. Shur they're already promoted at this stage, homecoming in Camross sorted. Picky, Mickey, Dicky and the lad f...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024

Quite. I recall one of the Portumna lads was stopped from hurling with Offaly around 2019 / 2020. Can't remember who it was, but this might jog someone's memory.

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024

TG4's main evening Nuacht is broadcast at 7.30pm each week evening, which is why the semi-final to be shown live on terrestrial TV will always be the 7.30pm one. TG4 have yet to confirm which game is being shown on TV Wednesday. However, their coverage One game had to be in a floodlight venue for tg...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024

Thanks for taking the time to research and post this. Very informative piece. Enjoy the match. TG4 have yet to confirm which game is being shown on TV Wednesday. However, their coverage states a start time of 7:25 and as the Offaly game is at 7, it seems Galway V Dublin will be shown. Seems like a m...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024

No, I won't help you out. If the point you're trying to make is that Offaly have no hope, I certainly won't be doing your research for you. These lads were born in 2004, 2005 and 2006. What went on before they were born is of no relevance here, any more than a Minor hammering from Kilkenny in 1968 m...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024

Offaly last played Kilkenny at the grade in 2022 in Kilkenny. Job done. Lots of positives, a couple of negatives. Apart from the first ten minutes of second half, Offaly on cruise control throughout. Good crowd there. Does anyone know who and where we are playing next Wednesday? If Dublin beat Wexfo...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024

The man has to work, the same as the rest of us. If he was a shift worker in a factory and had to work today, would there be an issue?
County Board officers put in huge hours weekly. And for no financial reward, they don't draw a salary, aren't paid travel expenses.

I like that team. Great to have Ciarán Burke and Cillian Kiely back. A few finishers on the bench too. Looking forward to it now. It's championship!

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024

Remember Offaly will be warming up at the Canal End, as they always do. Croke Park use an alphabetal order system to ensure Dublin get the Railway End, but Uibh Fhaili is 32nd and last alphabetically so will always have the Canal End side.
