Very unfair. An 1 hour drive for edenderry compared to a 5 minute drive for carrig.

Comparing SBP and Ballyfore GAA Grounds is a bit of a stretch facilities wise!

Massive win for CR against Edenderry who were not at the races at all. All to easy, CR very impressive in very poor conditions scoring 3-26.

Is it true all Edenderry’s 5 points came from placed balls in the first half ??kingscounty wrote: ↑Sat Jul 22, 2023 7:32 pm Massive win for CR against Edenderry who were not at the races at all. All to easy, CR very impressive in very poor conditions scoring 3-26.

Is it true that edenderry had a two hour round trip to play a game of hurling? While carig had a 10 minute round trip?.

One from play, sure what difference does it make when you are well beaten, would 5 from play have made it a better result ffsDodge83 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 22, 2023 8:23 pmIs it true all Edenderry’s 5 points came from placed balls in the first half ??kingscounty wrote: ↑Sat Jul 22, 2023 7:32 pm Massive win for CR against Edenderry who were not at the races at all. Re: Offaly Intermediate Club Hurling Championship 2023
Belmont seniors lost a senior championship game last year i think it was a group game, scoring 1-15 and all were frees etc..so Edenderry needn't feel all that bad..
Re: Offaly Intermediate Club Hurling Championship 2023
No difference obviously . I’m just asking. Only scoring 1 point from play in 60+ mins is a major concern in my opinionkingscounty wrote: ↑Sat Jul 22, 2023 9:23 pmOne from play, sure what difference does it make when you are well beaten, would 5 from play have made it a better result ffsDodge83 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 22, 2023 8:23 pmIs it true all Edenderry’s 5 points came from placed balls in the first half ??kingscounty wrote: ↑Sat Jul 22, 2023 7:32 pm Massive win for CR against Edenderry who were not at the races at all. Big big win for Coolderry against Drumcullen and full value for their 5 point win.
Coolderry top the group and head for a semi final, as do Carrig and Riverstown on the other side.
Drumcullen face Edenderry and Rynaghs face Shinrone in the 2 quarter finals.

Re: Offaly Intermediate Club Hurling Championship 2023
Does anybody have the Coolderry team and subs used in intermediate? I heard they have alot of their former seniors playing.
Interesting to see. Some of them possibly played some part in an intermediate final back in early noughties when they were coming out of the very successful underage grades before going on to senior glory a couple of years after that. Looks like they are quiet strong at intermediate grade again.

Believe it or not, Edenderry were 5-5 to 5-4 winners over in 1938’s Senior hurling quarter-final! Edenderry gave Drumcullen a walkover in 1964 while in their only other meeting (1965), Drumcullen were 7-10 to 1-4 winners.

Wasn’t hurling Edenderry’s first game until the 1950’s?Plain of the Herbs wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2023 11:32 pm Believe it or not, Edenderry were 5-5 to 5-4 winners over in 1938’s Senior hurling quarter-final! Re: Offaly Intermediate Club Hurling Championship 2023
In hurling, they won the Intermediate in 1935 and stayed Senior until 1948 (reaching semi-finals in 1936 and ’38, and the Final in 1940). Won Junior in 1953, followed with an Intermediate win the following year and stayed Senior until 1959. Then won Junior in 1963, Intermediate in 1964 and stayed Senior until 1967.
In football, they were Junior winners in 1925 (I can’t tell how long they stayed Senior), and again in 1933, after which they won their first senior football championship in 1936. They’ve been a Senior football club ever since, with the exception of 2007.
So they were a dual Senior club for 19 of the 24 years between 1936 and 1959.
