Slight humbling coming up to half time. Some things that are really standing out are the comparative conditioning of the two teams. Derry are playing a very measured game with a clear goal in mind, they could have been in for a number of goals.

i did sadly. we will struggle to beat louth on todays showing..derry are no great shakes either but way superior..

Doesn’t look good, experience of playing in Croke Park done and dusted move on quickly Louth the next target now.

Think that was worse than most people could have anticipated. Its alright wanting to play there, but i think we got found out a bit there today. Look better suited to playing in tighter provincial grounds

Derry are probably at least 10 years ahead of us in terms of development of players. Great to have the enthusiasm about the shane lowry and michael duignan appointments but realistically this is much the same group of players thats only scrapped survival the last couple of years in division 3. It could be the guts of 10-15 years before we see the fruits of whats going on now.

Derry could have had their fill today and probably pulled up with 15 to go given that they have championship coming soon. We should be proud of our boys with all that being said. Croke Park is a big place and sadly their are no places to hide once you get their.

might have been better not play it but hindsight is 20/20 vision i suppose.. louth in navan will be a tough one now....

Navan will suit offaly . This game vs louth was always going to be 50/50.

Not sure about that now, they operated under different restrictions on that part of the island for a period of time during the lockdown.

It wouldn’t have been enough to explain a 12 point loss, look at the differences in physiques of both teams. Thats something thags built over years, not during a lockdown period

Derry were far superior plain and simple , and deserving winners. We are not at that level yet, division two next will we be meeting teams like Derry every match.
The boys were right to play the final feck this shared title of joint winners. Louth will be waiting in the long grass, we need to re group refresh and just give it all they can for 70 mins.

Bad day at office. Think a few were overawed by occasion / grounds etc. We were very poor but we have had a great league. Would you have taken our current situation at start of league ? Absolutely. Well done to the lads and lets get ourselves right for Louth. It will be a real test.
