OY vs WX, LS vs Dub

It seems we're all set now for a double header in Croker on 25th June according to Des Cahill this morning I'm told.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing? Hopefully all this subs nonsense will be well over by then I suppose it's no help to Wexford either.

Tickets will be in short supply with the Dubs forst day out and with Laois playing them they'll be well supported too.

Seems that way.

I wish the GAA was a bit more clear about these things. I'm getting gouged for flights here by not being able to book well in advance. I still haven't booked the flight for the weekend yet even, which looks like it's going to cost me in excess of the cost of my four league trips the way things are going.

Its probably a time of the year thing with the flights, summers always more expensive.

Hopefully our support will come out in big numbers, no doubt the Dubs and Ls support will root for the yella bellies in our game (I presume Offaly will be the curtain raiser).

Was the Offaly game supposed to be on TV? Will the change affect that?

Has been confirmed on GAA.ie, double header on the 25th. Could be a rough day for the Shark, in on the Hill with all the Dubs, syringes and knives everywhere.......

God knows the match could leave us deflated enough!

Mighn't be too bad LS, the hill is in sections now isn't it?

They'll probably give the smallest section (nally terrace is it?) to the Offaly supporters, thats if they'll make any terrace tickets available for Offaly at all.

I don't know - the Dubs Golden hill ticket seems to be intact - the might maybe leave ourselves and Laois together on that bit maybe.

I think they're doing this because they fear Kildare will take out an injunction against a game on the 18th.
What would be ticket situation be like?
If all counties were well supported, it could be fairly full.
Hopefully the World Cup will distract a lot of the Dublin band-wagoners.

On a sunny day, the cider and urine flowing on the Hill, it could be messy with the Dubs. Thing is though, most of the yob element only arrive 5 minutes into Dublin's game. The place would be empty for the curtain raiser.

We won't have to worry as the Dubs never turn up for the 'minor' match anyway.

It will be interesting to see all the teams in action as I really think there is little between any of the remaining four.

I live with a guy from Longford who tells me they are at their worst stage in many many years and he should know as some of his best friends are playing for them. If Dublin can only just beat them you have to ask if they are any good. Coupled with the fact that it shouldn't have been a hard match for them you would think that Laois have the upper hand coming into this game.

Now Wexford have been the coming team for a few years but we all know that if you stop Mattie Forde (even if you have to double up players to mark him) you rob them of their main threat.

We have a great chance to take a Leinster. Lets face it that is the limit of our capabilities. As Cyril Farrell would say "We have a game on here Ger".

We had been musing over an Offaly v Wexford double-header so now we know that is off the cards anyway. A big pity, especially if the Hurling game was to finish in a draw - now any replay still cant be doubled for us.

Croker will be fairly mad for the two football games. The athmosphere might be good. I was wary about what our own game would be like as I dont expect Wexford to bring a large Football crowd (and especially if we had done them down a week earlier). Now there will be two weeks between the Wexford games and all the football publicity will be on the Dubs v Laois game (no doubt to be billed as "the real final"). I suppose this will become an all-ticket game with little or no sales expected on the day.
