Tullamore pitch
Tullamore pitch
Hi lads,
I am a Birr man based in Blarney and they are playing their club intermediate semi final in Tullamore. The match is on in Jan and they have asked me if the pitch in Tullamore is sand based or not. They are training on a sand based pitch which is pretty hard. If they know that the Tullamore pitch will be soft and mucky in Jan then they will trian on a similar pitch. Anyone out there know the pitch in Tullamore and what condition it is likely to be in in Jan.
Cheers.

Don't forget to apply to the Tullamore club if you want to warm up on the back pitch which is across the road.
Applications to be made in triplicate, in Irish, to the club one month beforehand.
Otherwise you'll end up warming up out on the road. The Tullamore club are very particular about this rule !!

The pitch in Tullamore will probably be in good condition but is softish enough at the best of times compared to pitches in Cork as the land around here is boggy.
