Yes indeedy.
Bertie leaves on the 6th of May - Brian Cowen's hour has arrived.
Mr Cowen will be Taoiseach before the start of the championship, with a bit of luck.
:D

I can't wait to see all the improved infrastructure and services for east Offaly that having a Taoiseach should bring..

And I hope he doesn't descend too much into the Parish Pump politics. I want him to continue being what he seems to be, a man with a sensible approach to lead the country, and being honest as well. I don't want him to 'favour' Offaly for anything unless it is in the public interest.

If Barack O'Bama does the job in the US, our quest for total domination is well underway. Maybe we can draft in a couple of hurlers from the States or somewhere :D

Agree 100%.

Below are the developments in the pipeline...in the public interest:

The redeveloped Clara GAA complex:

I've just heard that Cowen is going to introduce highly beneficial tax breaks on grooming products such as hair gel, deoderant and aftershave. Seemingly the Clara GAA committee were on the phone first thing after Bertie's announcement this morning. He is to reccommend these measures to the next Minister for Finance for inclusion in this years Budget.

I believe there will also be a special tax consideration for those people who avail of the new 'White Boots' scheme. This scheme allows pampered fancy dans to purchase footwear which correctly demonstrates their innate ability to kick wides while looking flash :D

Newsflash,

New tax break for multiplex tanning salon in Egans Sports centre Clara.
Seemingly the expected electricity output increase before the football championship has meant a new extension to the Shannonbridge power station to cater for all the Clara teams.

Please note the tanning facility is not available to the Under 10's this year.
:D :P

Laugh yee may, but when the Clara lads start pulling up for matches in Stretch-Hummers (probably driven by the Monk!), yee'll start taking us seriously :o

Word just in on the wire: The Shaper is to replace Seamus Brennan.

:D Loving this Clara / Cowen stuff.
I have to admit i have never liked Bertie, too much of Charlie's lapdog in him.
Cowen I think will do well, and I've great respect for him, even if I never voted for him.
And he will undoubtedly be a benefit to this area if we have the Taoiseach in the County.

Jaysus BNMM, the emails are flying around the place today referring to the pictures and the thread above. Hope Cowen gets a copy of it.
We could do with some sort of motorway linking Clara - Ballycumber - Doon - and on towards the bridge (maybe even bypass it...)
Twill be great having the Taoiseach supporting us in Croker this year!
