Morrissey must take some of the blame for creating this mess.
If badly informed pundits like him hadn't started bleating about something being "wrong", then Kildare mightn't have mounted such a high horse.
Now Kildare's initial sabre rattling has meant they can't be seen to lose face and back down. Even though they're now a bit embarrassed by the whole saga.

I dunno about that. They still could have stopped short of going to the DRA, saying that they were going to frame a motion for next year's congress or something if they wanted. They could have argued that they exhausted the GAA channels but didn't want to go further than that. I think deep down they want a replay. Maybe not the players, but the decision makers certainly do.
I agree though that Morrissey caused a lot of this. You'd love to see someone like Duignan put it to him on air and see how the hobbit squirms out of it.

Gerry McDermott is highly respected GAA analyst. He worked with Edenderry in 01 prior to the replay of the county final and in one 45 minute session he highlighted (through video analysis) about 20 things that Edenderry did wrong in the drawn game.I believe that he was a strong factor in Edenderry bring the county title back to the town that year.He has worked with numerous counties including; Kildare,Laois and most recently Tyrone when they won the All Ireland in 2005
He is a very concise and clear individual and as far as I would be concerned whatever he says is definitely spot on.
Also he works as a Revenue Commissioner and those fellas never get it wrong.
