What I meant was that it's not for the GAA to worry about whether we are good, bad or indifferent in relation to local soccer, local rugby, or any other sport. I wouldn't condemn Gaelic Games for being any worse than some other arbitrary benchmark, neither would I engage in backslapping just because other sports have worse problems than we do.
It wasn't intended to say that what happens between the whitewash should always remain there, not my view at all. I'd be largely along the lines of Durra1, if it looks like assault, then it should be treated as an assault.
