16 points of a beaten won’t help the cause, one game left and that will be all she wrote for the football this year.

Dylan Hyland had to go. Straight striking offence. No idea re Jack McEvoy - possibly either did something in the immediate bit of a schmozzle after the Hyland strike or maybe he said something to the ref but his red was before play resumed after the Hyland bit. Btw I don’t know what caused Dylan to strike out as it was the far side of the field from me.

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
On the game itself, a pretty poor show again.
The amount of times that Cavan turned over ball on us was shocking - great pace in their attack when they did and it was generally straight down the middle.
Our kick outs were a disaster- nothing more to say. Raymond Galligan by comparison- well we could do worse than studying a few of his videos!!!
An awful lot of miss placed passes. Zero penetration in our attack and way too slow on the counter when we did get the chance.
Anton very lucky to get the goal chance in the first few minutes and then got a carbon copy late in the first half and put it over from 4 yards. Jack McEvoy also hit the butt of the upright in the first half in one of our better moves.
Lucky for us that Cavan hit probably 6-8 wides in the first half.
Jordan Hayes made a difference when he came on at half time. Offaly did rally a bit a start of the second half but Cavan never really worried I’d say. Other than that, a day to forget for offaly. Very small offaly crowd but suppose understandable given tomorrow is the big day.
On the venue - Longford has a lot going for it by means of a great car park and easy to get in and out. Nice stand and terraces but jayus the PA system must be the worst in the country and no clock is a bit bit of a nightmare nowadays.
Enjoy tomorrow folks.

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
I see the team is named for tomorrow. hopefully the lads show up with a decent mindset for the game.
Havn't been right really since the Louth game. Meath,Limerick, Antrim are the options if we get through.
Hard to get motivated for this after the Laois game, brutal stuff and still don't know how we got a draw.
We'll struggle in midfield but hopefully Hayes gives an outlet.
Hyland is a loss alright.
Hard to say anymore, backs are decent lads, and we have some good forwards but only if going full tilt.
Good luck to them anyway

I don’t say this lightly, but this is the worst ever performance I’ve seen by an Offaly football team.
