Remembering Eoin Downey preventing an Offaly goal last year with a rugby tackle.

I hope they applauded this one so. :D

i see the full panel are available for interviews on the press night. i think this is a mistake. 3 or 4 of the more articulate lads plenty in my opinion. with formulaic instructions on answers. plenty of time for wide ranging interviews when we win it. its very easy for skilled journaists to get young lads to say something controversial.

They’ll need a strength and conditioning coach in if they want to win that…

Wouldn't begrudge lads their day in Croker , but a strange one the u20 b hurling is being played in croke park and the main event is being played in county grounds

The atmosphere is much more special in a sold out county ground than a 25% full Croker and given the fact Offaly will account for 90% of the crowd we should be happy it’s in a county ground as it amplifies our voices even more and no matter how strong-willed a referee is, that has to affect some of his decisions.

I don't disagree with ya , more so gonna be alot of disappointed people Monday morning when Ticketmaster invariably crashes , there wouldn't be any issues if it was croke park. Think back to u20 football final was no shortage of noise that day.

It might be just me but I don’t enjoy hurling in Croker, I think it’s too expansive and leads to more route one hurling.

If capacity is the issue then the Gaelic Grounds would suffice.

Don't underestimate the value of having this final at a Leinster venue.
Pat Donegan. Signed out of respect for players and all involved with Offaly.

Leinster venue made no difference when it came to a 50:50 decision late on vs Tipperary in the minor final.

We know what we’ll get from this team from 1-9 next Saturday. Here’s hoping a few more of the forwards can come up to the level of Screeney, Rigney and Bourke. I think there’s a big game coming from Doyle, the match the other night will bring him on.

7.15 a crazy throw in time. At least we know Kilkenny will take a bit of pride in hosting the match. Portlaoise was a disgrace the other night, it’s nothing short of a dangerous venue for so many reasons. In this day of health and safety you’d wonder how it’s let host big crowds.

Great to see the Offaly jerseys being worn by kids around the county all week. Bring on next Saturday

7 15 is a crazy time. If its a dark evening, going to be tricky leaving the venue. Every possibility that it goes to extra time. No floodlights either. Thurlus far better venue. Easy access and used to hosting big games. Croke park would also work. More neutrals would go to croker or thurlus.

No chance are we agreeing to give Tipp a home game but I do agree on the time.

There’s also no leeway to push the throw in back if there’s a delay in getting supporters through the turnstiles.

I think there’ll be more neutrals in Nowlan Park than would be in either of the other two venues though.
