Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Played alot better than v galway or dublin and that's not because they were better teams but because decision making accuracy aswell scored some brilliant points and took them when the option was on
Only slight concern I'd take is every player wanted go on a run maybe they could have let it in to the forwards a bit more
Goals were very soft first one more than the second again it's kinda a fluke what are the chances of that ball not hitting one player before ending up in the net
There was alot of sand on the pitch that probably made it hard to get the ball up at times it just looked like nobody could get Rise it first time

Offaly last played Kilkenny at the grade in 2022 in Kilkenny.

Good crowd there.
Does anyone know who and where we are playing next Wednesday? If Dublin beat Wexford, would it be Offaly and Dublin in a draw to see who plays KK or Galway. Any chance of it in Tullamore?
Pat Donegan. Signed out of respect for players and all involved with Offaly.

I’m not sure how we’ve managed to wrangle this because we’re 2 seeds and not entitled to a home game but it seems like TG4 have decided to broadcast Dublin vs Galway thus the choice of Portlaoise but why couldn’t our game have been played in Nowlan Park?

We genuinely could be looking at 10,000 at this game.
At home, Kilkenny, we have a decent chance.

This is going to be a fantastic occasion. Surely we will get a huge crowd into our home ground.
The ultimate litmus test is against the Cats and this years u20 side are a good crop of theirs.
Without Ravenhill its going to be a struggle given Kilkenny sides imperious ball winning ability.
Hopefully we can stick with them throughout and the home advantage will take us down the home stretch.
We are really going to need all the forwards to really stand up - time and time again the Magician delivers, but we will need more than him.
A lot of positives from yesterday, Rigney has the speed and hurling to trouble anyone and young Egan from Clara has really come to the fore.
Hopefully all of the clubs can get behind the team on this one and organise for all local kids to attend as i can see that u16s have free admission.

Could be due to the aforementioned 2022 clash taking place in Nowlan Park?
In any case, it's great news. Should be a brilliant game and hopefully having a 20:1 supporter ratio in attendance in our favour can be worth a couple of points to the lads.

2007 Leinster U21 semi final I think. We lost the final to Dublin, Diarmuid Connolly was playing.

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Kilkenny are the one team that our u20s of last year and minors of '22 didn't face on their way to Leinster victories.
Our minors of 2021, which is this age group, lost well in a semi final in Nowlan Park.
However, a couple of years development and younger lads coming through should be a major boost, along with a massive home crowd.
Kilkenny teams are backboned by the all-conquering St Kierans sides, which pulls from more clubs than any Offaly county side could dream of.
Our combined schools team of last year have experience of beating them in the schools final, which did not go down well with Kilkenny folk one bit.
The ultimate litmus test of where we are at.
I'm already excited.

Just wondering could POTH help me out here.
Since the 1998 All Ireland Final our record in the 3 grades vs Kilkenny is:
Senior - P10 W0 D0 L10
U21/U20 - P? W1 D0 L?
Minor - P? W0 D0 L?
