Just to reiterate the gulf between the teams
Based on sligos performance against Cavan and our performance against wexford twice this year, we’re probably going to struggle in division 3 next year

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2022
Fairplay, Not picking on you, but to say from 1 to 9 we were decent beggars belief, (they're primary goal is to defend and also as part of the job its to carry the ball out).
I know defending now is a team game, but we conceded 3-22, and scored 2-16!
I thought some of our defending was shocking and won't go into specifics but how a couple of lads were picked on that team is unbelievable, and shows the pressure of having a few absentees.

Very interesting. 30 fouls committed by the team who bossed a lot of the game. 20 of them non-scorable, so basically done to extinguish attacks before they even got launched. Another tactical aspect where Offaly were bettered on.pigeon house biffo wrote: ↑Wed Jun 22, 2022 9:36 pm Credit to Tony Bambrick on twitter

Info is coming from this interview which is worth a listen https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0chn ... are-mobile
All told, reckon (and sounds like) it could be T O Se's gig to turn down, particularly if Declan Kelly is not going forward.

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2022
Any predictions for the league final this weekend?
I can’t separate Ferbane and Tullamore to be honest they’ve been the two best teams in the league by a long way. Tullamore will be missing Cormac Egan John Furlong And Oisin Keenan-Martin Ferbane will be down Oisin Kelly and maybe Leon Fox too bar that they should have full squads. Rafferty seems to have Ferbane moving very well they’ve got brilliant forwards where as tullamore are probably a better all round team, won’t be much in it wouldn’t be surprised if it went to penalties will be a nice warm up for championship could be 1/3 meetings between these two this year.

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2022
I was at the final, poor quality from both teams.
Tullamore got off to a good start and were up 0-05 to 0-00 early and never looked like losing although Ferbane did close it up to 0-08 to 0-06 before halftime.
Second half was even worse from both teams, finished 0-13 to 0-08.
Ferbane struggled to get anything going up front and were cut open at times but Tullamore failed to capitalise, wasting a lot of ball.
Tullamore’s team looks more settled and are just missing the three U20’s, Cormac Egan, John Furlong and Oisin Keenan Martin.
Ferbane’s team was a bit of a mish mash with Oisin Kelly still out and likely not coming back this year and his brother David who’s gone travelling this Summer is missed in midfield along with Kyle Higgins who’s also gone travelling. Leon Fox wasn’t fit to start and Cian Johnson came off early injured.
Based on that performance today, Tullamore should still be favourites for the championship but Rhode would’ve put it right up to them today and Ferbane will need some of the aforementioned back and fit come the business end of the season to beat Tullamore or Rhode.

Thanks to John Maughan for all the work he did.
I thought he brought the team along, but now is the time for a change.
Who will be the next manager? I don't know about Tomas o Shea. What managerial experience does he have.
