Junior A - Kinnitty

U20 - St Brendan’s

I’d say a lot of clubs caught on the hop by the structure of the Senior A and B hurling championships.

Senior A - 2 groups of 5. Play teams in your own group.
Team 1 reaches semi final.
Teams 2 and 3 reach quarter finals. (2 quarter finals) Winners proceed to semi finals.
Teams 4 and 5 enter relegation FINALS. Both losers relegated.

Senior B - Same format as last year.
NO PROMOTION for winners.

2023 Senior A and B will have 8 teams in each.

Wonder was that why Tullamore mgt team stepped down after one year? No promotion.

It's not as if this year's Senior B final winners are going to be home in time for their tea on the evening of the final.

Not in any way convinced of any outright winners which is good I suppose. Rynaghs will depend on who they replace Ken Hogan with. Coolderry will take stopping after great year this year. KK have the talent they need to unearth and unleash from their underage system. Shinrone made strides last year and might take another step this year. Outside of these, Belmont and Ballinamere are capable of edging into a semi also if they are organised, but no further than that. Will be very competitive championship when 2 teams are set to drop and q-finals included. Every game will have significant meaning which will be great for excitement.

Are Edenderry not still Junior A this year ?
