Sigerson/Fitzgibbon 2020
Sigerson/Fitzgibbon 2020
Great to see Offaly players involved in both Sigerson and Fitzgibbon this year. I know the last couple of years we have had representatives but we are a long way behind other counties in this regard. Anyway, very positive and great to see Cian Farrell make the Sigerson team of the week after his performance for Carlow IT.

Offaly players listed on the extended Fitzgibbon panels before Christmas:
Eoghan Cahill, Eimhin Kelly and Cathal Curran with Mary I;
Paddy Delaney with UL;
Andy Flynn with UCG;
Peter Walsh with Galway RTC;
Conor Langton with Carlow.
And that's it.

Podge was with UCD last year and captained them I think. I presume that he has since graduated college.

Thanks for clearing that up LooseCannon.... wasn’t sure if it was the 1990 Fitzgibbon we were talking about!
Re: Sigerson/Fitzgibbon 2020
Another 7 points for Cian Farrell in the Q/F. Great to see him and Jack Walsh playing for Carlow, who will face Letterkenny IT in the semi final.
I cannot see whether Shane Tierney was involved for DCU in their Q/F?

Re: Sigerson/Fitzgibbon 2020
I was in Carlow yesterday, Cian was absolutely excellent. A couple of "rush of blood to the head" moments in the first half when he had chances for other scores, but overall he was very good, completely took the game to UCC with a fearless attitude. There's no doubt that right now he's clearly one of our best forwards and is well worth a start.
I see Shane Tierney came off the bench after 15 minutes of the second half against Queen's. Hard to know what to make of that, the game was done and dusted at that stage. I like Shane and think he has something to offer, but it's probably not unreasonable to say he has slipped behind the two Cians in the pecking order for Offaly, which means he'll struggle to get playing time as things stand.

Don't think Shane Tierney is on the OY panel, not sure whether his decision or mgt's.
Re: Sigerson/Fitzgibbon 2020
Great to see an Offaly player make a serious mark on this competition, and the best of luck to him in the semi final. Michael Murphy heavily involved with Letterkenny as a coach and a good sprinkling of Donegal seniors.
