Re: Offaly v Leix Round 3 Qualifier
Could have been a lot worse. It is certainly winnable, and we should go there with a genuine sense of confidence in our own ability.
Peter Parker: I missed the part where that's MY problem.

Laois v Offaly round 3- Portlaoise
Laois it is, pity we didn’t get a home game but in fairness it could have been a lot worse.

Looking forward to it, if we can apply ourselves the way we have in the other games we won’t be far off. Best of luck lads
Re: Offaly v Leix Round 3 Qualifier
Are we actually sure that it's on in PLaoise?
As Laois were drawn the second team out of the hat do they not move to the second team in the 4th fixture?
Regardless great draw!

Not a bad draw at all. We avoided the big guns.kingscounty wrote:Looking forward to it, if we can apply ourselves the way we have in the other games we won’t be far off. Best of luck lads

Some reports saying game is in Tullamore! As Laois had been pulled out of the bowl as a second team any word on that

from the Hoganstand site
Mayo will host Armagh in Round 3 of the All-Ireland SFC qualifiers while Tyrone have been handed a tricky trip to Kildare.
The round 3 draw took place this morning and threw up some mouth-watering fixtures.
Following their six-point victory over Limerick on Saturday, Westmeath will entertain Clare in Mullingar while O'Connor Park, Tullamore will stage a Leinster derby.

Brian Lowry and Pat Nolan had it as being in Port Laoise anyway.

Re: Offaly v Leix Round 3 Qualifier
Offaly played Leix in Portleix in 2006 in a Round 4 qualifier on foot of a home and away agreement. Surely it comes to Tullamore this time?

Re: Offaly v Leix Round 3 Qualifier
I know that we’re due an away game, but does anyone else think that it’s complete BS as to why Leix get home advantage?
They should have pulled for the team to play WH then reentered LX to the bowl and whoever comes out first gets home advantage. It would seem to be fairer, then again ……
That being said, we’re due an away fixture, but it doesn’t appear to be fair.

Re: Offaly v Leix Round 3 Qualifier
Whether Offaly played at home in a previous round of the qualifiers has no bearing on it. The issue is that Offaly have a home and away agreement with Leix which dictated the venue for the 2006 meeting in the qualifiers.LooseCannon wrote:I know that we’re due an away game, but does anyone else think that it’s complete BS as to why Leix get home advantage?

And if Offaly are again forced to play away again this weekend, that should at least mean that the next 2 meetings should be in Tullamore. But we all know this is never going to be chased up on.
