Is the lad in question related to Regan by any chance?

I agree 100% with Regan on this. I think if you train and commit all year then the least you deserve is a face to face conversation as to why you are being removed from the panel. It wouldnt be easy but then thats why you are a manager. For this player who Regan mentions in his twitter reports then he will find it hard to go back in after being treated this badly.

I genuinely hope this team doesn't start, I know dummy teams are common these days but Joseph Bergin has to start

Offaly have lost to Laois, westmeath and Antrim. No player is untouchable.

mmm..interesting..hard to know with Bergin not starting, maybe management know/reckon someone else might be "able" for the Kerry No.6..Gath may not actually start on him (the Kerry No.6)...or else they are gambling (I know, I know people will say we cant afford to gamble) but maybe they are going with this starting 15, and maybe keeping Joe Bergin for HT if we are trailing or in bother etc...hard to know but these are just possibilities....Ime sure management, for all their criticism over the last 24 hours or so, are doing their best and think this team can perform..lets row in behind them now and get a win...

Just reading some of this while listening to the match on the radio.
Good start by Offaly, in the meantime Daithi couldn't even get to the match on time!!!

Peter Geraghty straight red ...Jaysus.

Fairplay, will you try use a full stop now and again?? Good lad

I'm absolutely gutted by that result, but I picked up a comment like this on twitter and I'm going to pick up this too.

There is a lot more to Offaly hurling than the senior county team. It is important, but it is not everything. That's not to say that everything is okay, it isn't - but seven months ago lots of us watched Coolderry and Ballyboden play out a truly memorable game. It's highly debatable whether or not this Offaly team would beat Ballyboden, their confidence and form has fallen so low.

The fundamental role of the GAA is to provide Gaelic Games for children and adults alike, and that is the starting point for everything. Do we need to do better - no doubt we do, but the idea that this is some sort of death knell, I aint having it. It's a setback, and if it finally jolts people out of their state is disgruntled inertia, then maybe it needed to happen. I'm not going to get into that now, except to say that we don't need to carry on as if we may as well fold up the tent.
Kevin Egan. Signed out of respect for players and all involved with Offaly.

There will still be hurling in Offaly, after a difficult week for county teams. No need to raise the white flag.

It really is quiet simple and it was said on the radio today..most of the blame must fall at the feet of the county board.

They are ment to be in charge of hurling and football in he county if we are not performing and the right structures are not in play they are fully accountable.

We have alot of worshippers on this website for the counry board why I dont know.

Mr.Byrne is a disgrace of a chairman imagine saying why dont people contest his position and let the clubs choose...?
The general feeling of the county is that he should be gone and if I was him I would walk why is he still there what is in it for him ?

Yes clubs need to get there house in order but we need help and we are not getting it from the county board who are incapable of fixing the shitshow that we are in.

The player pathway where is it ???

Need I say no more Tommy Byrne and his buddies resign ASAP!

Was the ref attacked after the game ? What happened?
Things are bad enough if it’s true !
