New Offaly Senior Football Manager
The following is taken from Hoganstand.com:
'The rumour mill is well underway as former Mayo and Roscommon manager John Maughan has been linked with the vacant Offaly position.
Following interim manager Tom Coffey’s announcement that he had no interest in taking on the role on a full time basis from Richie Connor, who resigned after a players’ revolt, the Offaly County Board are drawing up a list of potential candidates.
And, according to reports, Maughan is a leading candidate as well as former Dublin footballer Paul Bealin and ex-Laois manager Liam Kearns.
However, the county board will not be rushed into a decision and are quite happy to let Coffey and selectors Phil Reilly and Vinny Claffey continue in the role for the time being.'

I agree Darby s the man for the job. I know he is with Carbury but was he asked if he was intrested in the job after conner left?
If Darby wasnt an option i hope the county board can keep the current manager team.
People talk about whats better for a county manager a native or netural id have to say native. In general natives seem to do a better job look at Kerry the last few year ,Tyrone mickey harte, joe kernan Armagh ,in hurling look at Brian codey ,Ger Louchnane when at clare to mention a few .
Darby and Coffey would be just as capable if not better than Maughan, Bialian or kearns!

Identity Revealed
The following is taken from rte.ie:
'Delegates in Offaly have ratified Tom Cribben as manager of the county's footballers.
The former Laois supremo was the only name put forward at a specially convened county board meeting in Tullamore tonight.
Cribben replaces Richie Connor in the position and will take charge for the rest of the year. Connor resigned last month, following a vote of no confidence by the 2009 panel.
Cribben managed Laois in 1999 and 2000, and led with Edenderry to an Offaly SFC title in 2001.'
