The solution for Saturday's fixture double up fiasco
'This is the plan.
We all head to Thurles to watch the hurling.
As soon as it ends we pile into cars back for Tullamore...now this is the trick.
Meanwhile back in Tullamore, there won't be an Offaly fan in sight.
We tip off the guards that the Offaly fans are all in the pubs in Tullamore drinking the last couple of rounds.
Tell them there are thousands of them still outside the ground and that the match can't start
due to safety reasons.
Once the guards hear this and health and safety is mentioned, then the throw will be delayed.
By around 9:30, everyone should be back and the game can start!

Or if thats not going to work, after the Offaly hurling match, we will all sit on the pitch to listen to the football on the wireless.

I'm probably going to be in Tullamore myself, but PLEASE do this .....Doon Massive wrote:Or if thats not going to work, after the Offaly hurling match, we will all sit on the pitch to listen to the football on the wireless.

You could also put super glue in all the padlocks on O'Connor Park to stall the throw in!Lone Shark wrote: I'm probably going to be in Tullamore myself, but PLEASE do this .....

A relay of up to 50 streakers, all over the pitch perhaps?

Something will have to be done, we wait all year for a few championship games, and then two are fixed for a saturday evening around the same time.
Who is going to ring Joe Duffy tomorrow?

the Down boys will probably be coming through Navan i will get a few on the friends to hold them up for a hour or two or turn the sign posts the wrong way will give us all time to get back from Thurles.
Also any the fans that are not going to Thurles could sit on the pitch in Tullamore for a hour until we all got back for the match

Re: The solution for Saturday's fixture double up fiasco
Nearly choked on my Nutri Grain bar this evening when the text came through that the dreaded clash had materialised with our two senior teams.I suppose we shouldn't be surprised, the cccc could not give a hoot about Offaly supporters or players in all codes. It was bad enough that the u21 game is going ahead on Wednesday night but to be hit with a double whammy of the footballers and hurlers clashing on Saturday was the final kick in the guts and for all of us dual supporters that is sickening. Imagine how poor Sean Ryan feels this evening.
