If its good enough for Dessie Dolan.............

The only hope is that the football could start at 7:30 and this shouldn't be a massive problem for Down.
Dublin can get a game delayed so they can finish a few scoops.

Then there's a chance of making it and I suppose some guard will be hiding in the bushes to catch us all on the way up too.

Guys, how long would it take to get from Thurles to Tullamore? We might just make it for the start of the second half providing we don't kill ourselves on the way.

Well I'm going on the piss in tullamore early on saturday, gonna watch the hurling in the pub then walk up to O'Connor park to watch the football... solves all my problems.
I reckon I mite need about 6 or 7 pint bottles in me to be able to stomach what the footballers have in store for us after the hurlers win by 2 points

Thanks azoffaly. It might make it easier for people to decide where to go if the hurling is on tv.

We have a county board who have no vision, no foresight and now it appears no power. To be unable to influence the situation where offaly gaa fans & families have to try and budget or forego supporting their county team five times in a week ie S.H. offaly v limerick, U-21 offaly v kilkenny, S.H. offaly v waterford, S.F. offaly v down & M.F. offaly v meath is crass and unforgivable.
To expect u-21 players (amateurs) to play three times in a week is negligent and insulting to them and their families who cover and support them when representing county.
To deny Sean Ryan an honest, genuine, young dual star, who having made himself available to both panels an oppurtunity to be with his team mates at one or other venue is criminal.
Surely to God someone in the county board can see the lunancy of what is happening and even at this stage negoitate a more realistic date and time scale. Its not that we have to do it too often!!

Lads, a bit worried now about TV. There was an ad there on the telly, and they had GAA Live starting at 6.40pm on Saturday, which means only the Galway - Cork game, despite the Aertel page I posted. Also, on my Sky Plus thingy, it shows just one game on Saturday, again starting at 6.40.

According to todays paper Offaly have approached Down with a view to playing the football game at 2 & if that gets agreement Offaly will request to have the hurling tie played at 7 thus allowing fans to attend both games. Dont know how likely this is but it makes good sense.

The impression I got at the end of Sunday night's Sunday Game programme as they lised the sport on TV for the week was that both hurling qualifiers were live on Saturday.

It's changed so. Good stuff. It was definitely 6.40 on my Sky Guide last night.

I'm leaning towards Thurles at this stage.
