Dermot Healy won two all Irelands with Offaly. Think he took over in 1979

You can throw Sid in there too Frank, lets be honest he was a disaster. Playing Kevin Connolly as a sweeper in the 2014 Nowlan Park massacre was the worst set up ever witnessed. Followed by being humbled by Laois in 2015.
The years 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 saw the arse fall out of the senior hurling set up accelerated by hopeless management set ups.
To be fair to Kevin Martin he tried to put a bit of fight back in them and the opening league match against Dublin had the most pessimistic of us thinking "is this the start of something" but that lasted only 7 days.
Anyway that's all in the past now.

Br Denis dropped a bombshell in September 1974 when he announced he was stepping down as Offaly Senior hurling ‘trainer’ (as managers were known as back then) after 12 years in the position. So he would have been there since roughly 1962. For practically all of that time Joe Dooley (Drumcullen) was alongside him, sometimes as ‘assistant trainer’, other times as ‘co trainer’.

Andy Gallagher was elected to succeed Br Denis as Offaly Senior trainer, with Joe Dooley as assistant trainer and with Billy Burke (St Rynagh’s), Gerry Kirwan (Ballyskenagh) and Mick Spain (Drumcullen) as selectors. A year later he was joined by selectors Joe Dooley, Eugene Spain (St Carthage’s), John Clavin (Killeigh) and Mick Spain (Drumcullen).

Tommy Errity, Paudge Mulhare and Charlie Daly were elected selectors in autumn 1976, joined by Mick Spain at a later date. Diarmuid Healy was appointed as coach in autumn of 1979. Andy stepped down as manager in August 1983 and Diarmuid Healy took on the manager role, with Andy remaining as a selector.
