When was the last time offaly club team won a first round game at senior level?
Rynaghs were very close to knocking out ballyhale, has to be noted though, ballyhale looked on course to hammer rynaghs until the red card.

Kilcormac got to the 2017 Leinster final before Cuala beat them comfortably. If clubs get into the habit of winning county titles, they usually fare better outside the county. A fresh winner is rarely focussed enough to make an impact after winning a county final.

Didn’t KK win a Leinster and get to an All Ireland final after winning their first?

Correct and that in itself was a statement of intent for the future. They set down the marker that they weren't content to live off a single county title.
That's why it remains to seen, was winning the county title the 'Everest' for Shinrone, or are they going to come back again next year looking to build on it.

KK did indeed reach the SH club final in 2013, after winning their first Offaly championship. It was a bit strange that Shinrone were easily beaten by Naas last Saturday. To be serious about becoming a force in Offaly hurling, they need to go all out to retain their title in 2023, and beyond.
Shinrone have to ask themselves are they willing to accept one title, or have they the will to add to their first success?

Won't be simple.
They are capable no doubt about it but as I said before teams will target them now as they are champions

Will make for a good championship having more contenders for the championship

You would have to thinks its wide open. Can Shinrone match their final performanc and play like that consistently?
Where are Belmont probably the form team last year till the crumbled v Shinrone in last 5 minutes.
St Rynaghs is the hunger for another Sean Robbins.
KK seem to be at a crossroads as such with younger players not ready for adult hurling.
Birr young team again with plenty of potential but alot of questions asked of them.

Interesting year ahead.

Trim 1 21 to Tullamore 1-9. Bit of a hammering.

Trim were favourites, after beating Danesfort at Nowlan Park. Offaly teams haven’t made an impression on the Leinster Club Championships.
