Here’s hoping we can quietly get the job done in this tournament and build from there.

Will take some heavy lifting to get us out of Division 2 (would be great if we could accomplish that though).

well after last years disaster in the christy ring cup and letting a six point lead slip in one minute to antrim in the league in tullamore , maybe micheal fennelly isn’t the answer .

look if we struggle in the christy ring cup this year we might as well forget about it. the league games will be harder but we have kerry at home . should have enough for wicklow meath and carlow .

Should win the christy Ring regardless of whose over the team.
In the league, the carlow game is 50/50. Meath will be tough. Kerry, I cant see offaly winning.

Offaly were favourites for Christy Ring last year, until Down spoiled it. It looks like the league will be a big test for Offaly hurlers, Kerry and Down are at home, Carlow away will be difficult.

Best of luck to players and management in both campaigns.

oneshot how can you come out with something like "we should have enough" for Carlow on what grounds?

Read it. Great insight as you say, about his problems personal and sporting.

Because oneshot (and his other online alter egos) is still living in the 1990s. A decade that ended 21 years ago.

Not an ideal format for any competition with having one group with only one game and the other with 3 games. By my calculations, it will take 6 weekends to run the competition this way - 3 for the group, 1 for the 1/4 finals, 1 1/2 finals, 1 finals. If it had all been one group with top 2 to final and bottom 2 to relegation final, then it still would have taken 6 weeks - 5 weeks for the group, 1 for the final/relegation. I haven't read anything about it so there may be a valid reason for the format they went with, but I would have thought that the group of 5 would make more sense to all involved - each team would be guaranteed 4 games, with most getting 5 games and it still gets 'run off' quickly to let these players back to their clubs.
