I think they are waiting for the full road map from the GAA once all the intercounty games are fixed and played then this years club kicks in, Offaly are looking at fitting in last years unplayed finals prior to commecing the 2021 championships which are officially to run from September onwards..I think counties knocked out to the intercounty earlier can resume club earlier, so Offaly could be beneficaries of that scenario unfortunately...

As soon as the hurlers are finished (latest date this would be is last weekend of July) then you have to think the 2020 finals will be 2 weekends after this. Maybe even the following weekend. Then get 2021 championships up and running as quickly as possible because a winter lockdown of some sorts could be on the cards. Which is absolutely ridiculous but that’s for another day.

Agree about another possible lockdown. We have been told this current lockdown is the last, I think people won’t buy another lockdown, 5th in Co. Offaly. Let NPHET and the HSE, get the vaccination programme completed.

I know senior games will be dependent on inter county but i would have thought at lower levels the priority would be to just get them played off as soon as possible and the concentrate on 2021 season in as many codes and levels as possible.

Bit farcical that last year’s championships at lower levels arent being played now. What’s the hold up?

Possibly players involved doing the leaving cert.

Also by delaying until July more supporters will be allowed to attend.

Pretty sure it was passed a few years ago that LC students can’t hold up adult championships. Which is only fair and right.

You could be right about that ruling being made, however it was most likely never envisaged that an adult co final could be played in June.
It could very well be at junior level that one of the best players on the team would be a 19 year old leaving cert student.
