indeed he did hurl senior in 1971 and 1972 again laois and westmeath, work i think brought him
limerick and won an all ireland in 1973 with them.

I'm told there was no great conspiracy theory behind his inter-county transfer. Joe had transferred at club level a few years previously anyway, Limerick were going places and Offaly were in decline as the 1969 team was breaking up.
