Have to agree Paul Cleary was outstanding but at no stage was he full back,Barry Harding hurled full back!
Rory Hanniffy was the best player on the field and with Offaly selectors at the match I hope they took note of how he played at centre field!

You're absolutely right puzzeld! Sorry, a simple typo on my part.

Had a look at the double header today in Birr. A youthful Shinrone were full value for their 7 point win over a very average Rynaghs side (2-11 to 0-10) with Del scoring 4/5 points from midfield.

K/K were incredibly lucky to earn a draw against Clareen with a goal with the very last puck of the game. 1-13 a piece, Sean Coughlan was the most impressive performer, hurling superbly at wing back. Joe Bergin wasn't at his most impressive yet still scored 3/4 points from play from the centre forward berth while Tom Carroll played well at midfield.
K/K remain as K/K were, full of good players but not many great ones - even for this level.

Overall though, the standard of hurling was woeful in both games. Wet, windy, cold, just Round 2. See you in August.

Is Dinny Cahill still the manager of St Rynaghs. It was a surprise to most people at St Brendan's Park when Diarmuid Horan was substituted before half time. It was obvious to all that Rynaghs were being destroyed at midfield. As the game progressed, the St Rynaghs management saw the error of their ways and restored Diarmuid Horan, but it was much too late.

Yeh rynaghs did enough to win early days for peakin, coolderry aand birr falling well in with the pack now, rynaghs have serious panel best in county.

Re the panel there are injuries and players gone abroad so they were short.Long term as in a few years though we still have the best hurlers coming through, we have won done minor back to back, and prob do u21 2 in a row next year.I expect a backlash against birr, who were equally brutal versus drumcullen.

St Rynaghs are not the only senior club to take off their county player. Coill Dubh took off their Kildare county player Seanie Johnston after One Minute.

after appearing in I think 9 of the last 10 minor finals it was enevitable that a weaker team would come along at some stage. This team was mostly made up of last years u16's who struggled all year, so no surprise really with the scoreline espesciallt as some of the 18 year olds were not playing for a variety of reasons.
Rynaghs will have a few quiet years at minor level but there is plenty of work going on in the club with the likes of martin hanamy, Hubert rigney, David Hughes and eunan Martin amongst those involved

Carrig/Riverstown v St.Rynaghs IHC game fixed for Saturday in Kinnitty has been moved to this evening and will throw in at 7:30pm in Lusmagh.

Fair play to the management of the St Rynaghs team for agreeing to play the game on a date which was suitable to Carrig & Riverstown unlike Shamrocks Intermediate football team who took the game against Clonbullogue and Wheery (Ferbane, Belmont, Birr) who took the Under 21 football game against Shannonbridge.
