Re: Offaly hurling manager??

i agree such a negative game plan turn supporters and players off .
It Bullshite anyway cork did it last year and they were awyfull ,this year cork are playing a real positive type of hurling and their flying .
Attack is the best way of defending in my view .

Re: Offaly v Waterford

3 change for saturday P Camon A Tracy and J Mulrooney in for E Grogan P Guinan and S Cleary . Decent looking team only worry is K Ryan remarks that we need to avoid a hammering ,surely we need to try to win. Even if he think that beyond us right now surely he shouldnt public say it ,i dont think it ...

Re: Offaly hurling manager??

But you can't strike a balance when the opposing players on the Galway and offaly teams are imbalanced. Galway have better hurlers. So striking a balance cannot be achieved to such an extent that the scoreline will change from a defeat to a victory. Galway have great hurlers that why i think its ma...

Re: Offaly hurling manager??

Push up and goals go flying in. 19 point defeat turns into a 30 point defeat. This is it. Offaly had conceded 6 goals to Galway in the league and 8 to Tipperary in a recent challenge. Galway's 33 scores might well have been 6-27 instead of 0-33 without some sort of mitigation. It's not as if Offaly...

Re: Offaly hurling manager??

After a 19 point loss to Galway ,i think Kevin Ryan tactics of 2 sweepers was a failure as we only scored 1 goal and a couple of point from play . Can anyone tell me is Paul Flynn working as a forward coach and is there an Ulster rugby guy coaching too ????? I understand what Ryan was trying but nei...

Re: Offaly U21 hurlers 2017

Poth those were great days and the pain of loosing to Tipp in a fantastic game in 89 ,massive score of 3 -11 to 4 - 10 i think. We may have lost but that was the best u21 team we ever had in my opinion.

Re: A chance for atonement - Westmeath v Offaly, Leinster SH

Pure rubbish on that article . Westmeath have made huge strides in recent years at underage level and last years win was deserved rewards for a county that put the work in . Was it Clonkill that knocked Cooldery out of the club championship in 2010 and Ratharney gave KK their fill of it in 2014 so 2...

Re: A chance for atonement - Westmeath v Offaly, Leinster SH

Lads i agree its a chance for Offaly to restore pride but Westmeath have championship games behind them, where we are coming in cold . There seems to be a decent spirit in the Offaly camp this year whereas last year guys were leaving . We should have a few lads back from injury .Both teams will fanc...

Re: Great News

Excellent facility credit to the all involved including P Boland ,he got his teeth into this project and now we have a top facility ,maybe his work on this project was the reason why he left hurling in ruins . We needed a home for our county teams now we need someone to put to same work into making ...

Re: Offaly SHC

I wouldn't agree with everything you say allstar. For me I would go like this : 1. St.Rynaghs 2. K/K 3. Clareen 4. Birr 5. Coolderry 6. Kinnitty 7. Shine one 8. Belmont. For the simple reason when it comes to the nitty gritty The Birr's and Coolderrys of this world have better lads on paper and mig...

Re: Offaly SHC

allstar 2010 good post I think after 2 rounds i expect St Rynagh Clareen Shinrone and Belmont to make Qf in that group and KK Kinnitty Birr and Cooldery in the other group Which could give us Quarter finals of St Rynagh V Cooldery KK V Belmont Kinnity v Shinrone Clareen V Birr It all could change bu...

Re: Offaly SHC

Its is only first round and quality of hurling wasnt great but it will be the quarter finals before we will see hurling of a decent standard in my opinion . The big question are KK Cooldery Clareen and Birr passed there best and can young teams like Shinrone Belmont Kinnity lusmagh and Tullamore ste...

Re: Offaly SHC

Sam it is no suprise to me that you fancy k/k I don't think you talk about any other topic other than k/k on this forum. Why are Birr limited sam? They were in the county final last year and were just one point behind with 10 minutes to go. Its my opinion but Birr best players are the wrong side of...

Re: Offaly SHC

I think KK will be hard to stop this year , Their age profile is good most lads in their mid to late 20s but St Rynagh have the monkey off their back now and should be a much more confident team this year. Clareen have real talent but have under preformed at the knockout stage each year ,only making...
