Re: Best hurling pitch in the county
Some pitches are great in Summer and not so much so in Winter. Kilcormac is fabulous summer pitch with great surface for hurling. It used to be bit soft in winter. Not sure if still the case. KK also have new pitch behind that that looks to have a brilliant surface that is inter county standard. Dr ...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
Senior B probably between KK and Clodiagh Gaels. Here is a question. Tullamore got two teams into Junior A football last year in two separate groups somehow. Could KK get two teams into Senior A hurling in separate groups for same reason if they win Senior B? The precedent is there and if you look a...

Re: Best hurling pitch in the county
Surely the best pitch is Tullamore GAA's first team pitch in O'Connor Park?

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
The main challenge for new management will be tempering the expectation around abilities of his u20 players. He may not realise it just yet, and prob few of the u20 players themselves realise it just yet but most likely that only a few of that u20 team will be good enough to make the step up to seni...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
The best of luck to Declan and the management team. It was always his job to take at this time and it is a big undertaking for him as he has a busy job also and has a young enough family. He has worked hard to get to this point with enormous level of success through ST Vins 3 in a row under 21's, C...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
No surprise there. Kellys appointment was inevitable. Selectors seem to be well experienced at club level. Just little surprised that neither selector has any experience at inter county senior level. It's a very big job and let's hope that we get the bounce everybody is hoping for. Best wishes to De...

Re: Club football championship 2023
Expected results generally but the gaps are not as big as anticipated, I think would be fair to say. Tullamore with nothing to play for, win by 4 in damp squib of game. Ferbane beat Clara by 8 or so is somewhat a surprise in sense that bigger win anticipated. As expected, Rhode comfortably beating B...

Re: U20 hurlers 23
In fairness to all players, when both teams agreed to move it by one day to facilitate the grad, and if this is true, I think its absolutely ridiculous that the co board couldn't agree to that. On a few other games, amazing that Clara Brosna Gaels could beat Ballinamere without young Shirley and Doy...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
Wouldn't think that is correct given he was playing with Shamrocks this year until he got injured.

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
A strong team / panel could include: 1. Ian Duffy Sean O Toole 2. Declan Hogan PJ Daly 3. Eoin Rigney Kieran Dolan if injury free 4. Lee Pearson u20 full back in final / Nigel Bracken 5. David Dempsey Ciaran Donnelly 6. Peter Cunningham John Furlong. 7. Rory Egan Cian Donohue 8. Ronan McEvoy Cathal ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
It's Declan Kellys job if he wants it I'd say. Now is his time. The elder lads of his u20 teams would be turning 25 this year. Did we not realise with previous 'names' on merry go around in other counties that such a solution is rarely the answer. Local manager who knows whats there is needed in my ...

Re: Club football championship 2023
Huge result for Bracknagh. Still unbeaten and almost certainly in a quarter final now. You'd expect Edenderry to beat Shamrocks given Shamrocks Rhode result this evening but you never know. Edenderry from what I have heard are having their own troubles recently with removal of their senior football ...

Re: Club football championship 2023
Edenderry are under performing at senior level i think. Should be more competitive than we have seen from them in last couple of years. Tullamore annihalated Clara by 20pts this evening and it wont sit well with Clara GAA supporters. It was as poor a performance I've seen from a senior club team in ...

Re: Junior A Hurling Championship 2023
To be fair, think people have wrong idea re Tullamore. Yes they have good population but there are number of caveats there. 1. Firstly, there is significant majority of people in Tullamore who have zero interest in watching GAA let alone playing it. Soccer would have strong base in the town and rugb...

Re: Junior A Hurling Championship 2023
Nothing new here really. Shamrocks seem to be in perpetual state of dissaray, with any amounts of fall ins, fall outs and infighting. Is there ever a year there isn't a story going on there. Sure its no wonder they can't keep managers. Given the size of the area, population and proximity to Tullamor...
