Re: U20 hurlers 23
Is it just me, or was there alot of overcarrying missed. And they led to crucial scores for Cork. I keep going back to it, a weak referee had too much of an influence on the game. Yes, overcarrying was missed, but with most refs you get 7 or 8 steps so long as you go in a straight line. Cunningham ...

Re: U20 hurlers 23
Weighing it all up, Cork were going to win this game anyway with their older and highly talented team. I've read lots of comments from Cork lads patting themselves on the back for by winning by showing an 'edge'. This may not be as clever as they think. Imagine if a less generous ref showed red to K...

Re: U20 hurlers 23
Of the 29,000 in Thurles yesterday there was probably about 20 or 22,000 from Offaly. These were the big days that we thought had disappeared two decades ago. Let's surf that wave and continue to drive things onwards in Offaly. On for the game, as we feared, Cork had more older and physically develo...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
Some people in Tipp won't be expecting much from Offaly.

Re: U20 hurlers 23
Galway are in the minor All Ireland pracically every year and are poor supporters to travel in general. Can’t see them bringing more than 1,500. Clare have the Munster Final the following weekend possibly in Pairc Ui Chaoimh. Coupled this with the fact that only around 4,000 attended the Munster U2...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
One ferbane man that stood out in hurling and football last year was cathal flynn not sure what happened , I don't know what he had to do to make the team last year he played well everytime he came on and still couldn't get a start , I'm sure there's a good few that should be playing but aren't , I...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
Wexford had a great turnaround yesterday, which gives a boost to the other Joe McDonagh teams in 2024. While Westmeath had a brilliant victory last week, Wexford are a few points better than them and would have been hot favourites to win the McDonagh next year. Westmeath are marginally better than L...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
I wonder how much help has having a Kilkenny manager and playing in Kilkenny leagues been to Carlow players for proficiency under the high ball? If you couldn't win your own ball, Brian Cody didn't want to know about you. Early career TJ Reid being a great example. Unfortunately the traditional 'Off...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
Very obvious square ball here for the Carlow goal. Nothing marginal, or debatable.

This one was quite obvious too as there was a real goal chance.

A few minutes you were saying the manager's the problem, now it's because the team are only average.Superhans75 wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 8:30 pm I've watched every hurling game in the flesh you can't hide an average team
Quit while you've only dug yourself into half a hole of bullshit.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
Heart-breaking defeat. There is no doubt about it. Offaly somehow dragged the game to extra time against all odds. That was massive. When a lot went against them, the players stood up and tried everything. The wides will be a talking point but when you're not winning ball enough closer in, then you'...

Re: U20 hurlers 23
I'm surprised they didn't put the Town End terrace tickets on sale from day one. A lot of the teenager and young adult groups would rather congregate together on a terrace than try to grab seats in the stands.
If the stands sell out, they'll have to change tack and open a terrace.
