Re: League & Championship hurling 2022
The rankings are on the offaly independent website. Interesting that there are now 30 clubs that fielded a football team in 2022, while only 21 hurling clubs. That is a big difference.

Re: League & Championship hurling 2022
I was wondering what was up with no Colaiste Choilm players. Reading the match report they explained that it was to avoid burnout as most are dual players. I have to say that this approach is to be commended as enough is enough sometimes.

Re: Tullamore parentage motion
This reads to me like: you stay quiet about our 3 and we’ll stay quiet about your 28. So it looks like we stick with the status quo and if you really want your child to play outside of where the rules intend they should play that you do what has been done for generations… you find a way around it. I...

Re: Club Football Championship 2022
Seen the report in the express. Looked like a full strength bracknagh team, including the cunninghams and stefan geoghan. Those players alone should have been more than enough to get them over the line. Its a really very sad state of affairs. Trying to think of a comparable loss. Would it be like t...

Re: League & Championship hurling 2022
I think they dropped from Senior after the 2007 campaign, rebounded with an Intermediate final win over Birr in 2008 before bowing out of the Senior grade after 2009. Yes, Seir Kieran were Senior winners in 1995, so that was quite the year for small rural clubs all ‘round. And yes, Ballyskenagh wer...

Re: League & Championship hurling 2022
Yes, Seir Kieran were Senior winners in 1995, so that was quite the year for small rural clubs all ‘round. And yes, Ballyskenagh were Senior from 1996 through to 2007, during which time they were Senior finalists in 2003 and semi-finalists in 1999. Before that, they won Junior in 1961 and remained ...

Re: League & Championship hurling 2022
[/quote] Was travelling and listening to Birr match live on R103 Facebook page, Birrs form of the championship was laid bare here despite some on here thinking the win over Ballinamere was a timed run in the championship, the commentary laid bare Birrs form and I won't reiterate it here after they l...

Re: League & Championship hurling 2022
Shinrone in the final it is. May well be perfect timing to grab a Sean Robbins in between the end of rynaghs dominance and the start of a new K/K era - surely they can turn their underage might into something like 4 or 5 titles in the next 7 or 8 years. As for Belmont - heartbreaking stuff. They sti...

Re: League & Championship hurling 2022
It is fair to say that if you are comparing venues purely on facilities alone that OCP is going to win hands down, in probably every category. If you are going to make decisions purely on likely attendance numbers/financial impact, then you can't purely compare 2022 to 2023, as attendance is going t...

Re: Club Football Championship 2022
All set up for a big final now. 3rd year in a row that these teams meet, with the current score at 1 each with a draw thrown in the middle. Rhode will really fancy their chances - especially given that they have reclaimed the title every year over the past 20 years when they have made a slip-up the ...

Re: Club Football Championship 2022
Winner on the day is tough for the losers when it happens after penalties but logistically it makes complete sense. Consider the impact if it went to a replay. When to play it that doesn’t have a knock-on impact on Belmont’s hurling team, and pretty much every other game for the rest of the season. ...

Re: Club Football Championship 2022
I’m pretty convinced Rhode will win the county final. And that will be all she wrote. I would say that a lot of it will come down to which team avoids injuries and are able to get as strong as possible team on the field. I would put Rhode slightly ahead of Tullamore right now with ferbane and Edend...

Re: Minors hurlers 2022
I think the ticketing structure is a little bit crazy for the final. There will be a huge amount of families travelling with kids for this game. As you cant even buy a u16 ticket you will potentially have a problem as the stands fill up if the GAA are planning to sell tickets up to or near the capa...

Ah shur, we’ll try to keep it pucked out to them. We’re just delighted to be able to play an aul match against Tipperary and with the help of god we won’t embarrass ourselves too much.
