Re: Offaly v Westmeath. Leinster Minor Football.

Had a look at Louth GAA twitter page. They scored a 45 with couple minutes left to level it and then in injury time the same player kicked a free from his hands from about 40m out to get the one point win. Pity but hopefully we can bring some players through to the senior panel over the next few yea...

Let's hope we don't witness an Offaly crucifixion

Re: Offaly v Westmeath. Leinster Minor Football.

Best of luck to the minor footballers who play Louth in Drogheda tomorrow, Saturday in the quarter final http://leinstergaa.ie/fixtures-results/football/minor/electric-ireland-leinster-minor-football-championship-2017/ Louth beat Laois by 2 points in previous round and Laois have come back through t...

Re: Offaly v Westmeath. Leinster Minor Football.

TG4 showed some highlights of this game last night, see from 43m 46 sec in http://www.tg4.ie/ga/player/baile/?pid=5409486316001&teideal=GAA%202017&series=GAA%202017&dlft=34 From 49m 53 sec in there is an interview with the manager John Hughes where he talks about bringing this group thro...

Re: U21 football

Saw the game on TG4 website. Very brave and honest performance by the lads. Final score was a bit harsh. Dublin no where near the outstanding team we were lead to believe. It's a shame for this group of lads that an incompetent county board couldn't appoint a manager in good time to prepare them as ...

Re: Football league 3 2017

I went to Sligo today more in hope than expectation. Huge win for the lads and in the end they deserved it. In the first half the teams were fairly evenly matched. Ruairi McNamee was picked to start but Cian Donoghue played instead. As has happened all through the league Offaly depended on Bernard Al...

Glad to hear that. I was at the game and nobody seemed to know why he got a red card.

Out of interest how is a card downgraded ? Does the ref admit in his report that he got it wrong or how does it work?

Re: Football league 3 2017

O'Connor got a straight red card against Longford so presumably he was serving a suspension against Antrim, not a bad game to miss as it turned out.

Re: Football league 3 2017

Important win today after the second half collapse last Sunday. Home wins are vital especially with 4 home games which is why the Louth game in two weeks is another big one. Louth have started off with 2 wins some will come to Tullamore feeling confident. Important away wins today for Laois and Slig...

Re: Football league 3 2017

Was at the match today and we completely collapsed in the second half. Were one point down ( 0-7 to 0-6) at half time playing against the breeze and while we weren't exactly playing great I thought we had a decent chance of a vital away home. But Jesus the second half was shocking. Took us until abo...

Re: All Ireland Football Final

I think Gavin really would like to surpass the achievements of the great Dublin team of the 70s who won 3 AI titles including 2 in a row and 6 Leinsters in a row. And we all know who stopped them winning a record 7 Leinsters in a row ! The current team have won 3 AIs and 6 Leinsters in a row but rea...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling C'ship 2016

I know it's difficult to understand Frank, but you've missed one vital point. Offaly compete in both Hurling and Football and getting the fixtures right to suit both is not easy. Tipp only have to worry about Hurling. Jays us Magpie but I seem to remember Tipp being in this years AI football semi f...
