Re: Leinster Club Championship

A new place for Oulart to find themselves in, having reached Leinster’s final without having beaten the Kilkenny champions (as they did in 2011, 2012 & 2013), and they are not coming in to the final on the crest of a wave. Quite the opposite, in fact, as they were little short of deplorable aga...

Re: Dubs in Kilkenny for Football?

Seating capacity decided it , as reported in the media. All of Dublin's subsequent games will be in Dublin. Offaly played a football game v Kildare , and replay in 2002. I never found any problem in Kilkenny, we didn't win much there, not the fault of the venue.

Re: 2016 Championship

Excellent article JimBob. We have to get over this notion of South v North. I am from North Offaly and always support Offaly hurling regardless, I don't see any division if you are following Offaly. My own club Claodiagh Gaels have made big strides, and Na Fianna have won this year'sminor title, alo...

Re: Leinster Club Championship

Also.....Does anyone know because Coolderry have home advantage, do they or did they get to choose where the game is played? Or is this governed by the county board when the draw was originally made? Could this game have been played in Birr instead of Tullamore? Just a question, not trying to stir ...

Re: Offaly Hurling Championships 2015

To me coolderry and kk, both playing to their potental would be a great final and i think both have hurled to a much higher level than this rynagh team over the last 6 years . it annoys me to hear people say that if rynaghs or birr won it would be better for the county . Kilcormac/Killoughey gave a...

Re: 2015 SFC Final - Edenderry vs. Rhode 11/10/15

Poor display from Edenderry against a poor rathnew side. If Rhode were playing today they would win pulling up , don't know what happened Rhode in the county final but there's no way Rathnew would beat them. Edenderry yet again were relying on kicking high ball into high tower at full forward and i...

Re: What are they smoking in Birr?

You can include Killeigh, Geashill, Ballinagar, in that mix, as Na Fianna draw from those areas along with Killurin. Ah yeah, I was just picking Killurin as one example. Twas just to make the point that I don't care where the lads are from, as long as it's somewhere in between Moneygall and Johnsto...

Re: new offaly constituency?

You’d imagine the new Offaly constituency will return one Fianna Fáil, one Fine Gael, with the other seat between John Leahy and Carol Nolan. There’s quite an imbalance of candidates between east and west, and you’d think if the right candidate ran in South Offaly / North Tipperary that they’d stan...

Re: What are they smoking in Birr?

Also allstar maybe it's an indication while Cliodagh Gaels are doing well and Birr and the likes struggle maybe that's why Offaly hurling is poor cos the so called strong teams are not at the top anymore. I can understand why a lot of people believe this as it feels logical, yet there's no actual r...

Re: What are they smoking in Birr?

A true Offaly hurling supporter wouldn’t jeer at the difficulties of another hurling club, whether big, little or small, whether north, south or west. By doing so, Kelap, you've made a mockery of your own previous arguments. The county is too small for people to think we can get by with just a frac...
