Re: Super 7 men of Rhode
Does anyone know who has the most medals? Paschal, Alan & Roy would have more than the Walsh Island lads (6 in a row 78-83) and I don't think that any of the Ferbane lads (7 in 9 years - 86-90,92,94) were playing when they won in 76, so 7 may be the most that they would have. Can anyone verify t...

Re: Club football championship
Tullamore 1-14 Ferbane 1-11 Good game of football, won by Tullamore despite Ferbane controlling midfield. Some bad wides in the first half cost Ferbane dearly. Best for Tullamore were Maloney and McConway was very good when he came on. Colin Egan was excellent for Ferbane as was the Full-back (i thi...

Re: Football Review Committee Survey
With regards to the Championship Structure, I think that the GAA should take a close look at the NFL (American Football) which I feel is an excellent structure. Each franchise (county) there will play each other at least once every 4 years and it still incorporates a divisional structure (provincial...

I feel that Fine Gael have made a major cock-up in not getting another Enright to run in Olwyn's place. Surely Mundy is the man to take this country forward!!!

Re: Best Offaly Footballer of last 25 years.
I don't think that Niall McNamee can be considered. He hasn't really done anything yet with Offaly apart from 2006. I know that he hasn't a great supporting cast but to be considered great he needs to do a bit more. Look at Declan Browne for tipp over the years. Niall definately has the talent when ...

Re: First indication of football panel for 2009
David Lowry is as good as whats on the training panel at present. He also has the strength and physique, granted that he hasn't always used it, although he had a very good year with Ferbane. His Long range Free Taking is also very accurate. I'm not saying that he is the messiah but he is as good if ...

Re: First indication of football panel for 2009
Have to agree with Lone Shark about Aidan Keenaghan. In my biased opinion he was one of the best footballers in the county championship. He proved it against both county finalists in Ferbane's games against them. I would also like to add David Lowry of Ferbane to the mix. I felt that he has matured ...
