I want to put on record that those comments posted here at 11.45 this morning are totally unjustified.
I know one of the proposed selectors and I have huge regard both for him personally and for his sound hurling judgement.

Kilcormac Killoughey 2-23 Kinnitty 1-11 There was no indication this match would turn into a rout when Kinnitty went into a 7 – 6 lead around the twenty fifth minute. Then, without any major change to the overall trend of the play Kilcormac Killoughey scored five unanswered points between then and t...

What an occasion in O’Connor Park yesterday. A crowd of up to nine thousand- the stand full. A real family day out with people of all ages present from babies to grannies what with the Indian Summer’s day, a local derby and the prospect of a new name on the Dowling cup. While the success of the deve...

Re: Leinster Hurling Draw 2008
My interpretation of the piece, badly written as is was, was that Offaly and Dublin would be kept apart in the quarter final draw. According to today's Indo, Wexford and Kilkenny are seeded into separate semis. From what I can gather, although I think it's badly written, we play Westmeath and Dublin...

Briefly, Despite being a close game with the lead changing hands I thought this was a very poor game. It never came to life at all with maybe half a dozen or so cameos of brilliance, each of which lasted no more than about twenty seconds. Examples being Cathal Parlon’s point from distance before hal...

Re: Offaly back in Div 1?
Just heard on Radio3. The league groupings as posted here by Loughers have been ratified at a Central Council meeting today (Saturday). Ya boy ya Loughers! That’s good news. Not just to be back in division 1 but the draw, I feel, is favourable. Each match on it’s own is winnable. Each could be lost ...

The senior hurling championships have reached the semi final stage which take place this weekend. The venue is O’Connor Park, the first time the hurling semi finals have been played at the venue since 1993 when Birr and Kinnitty met in a curtain raiser to an All-Ireland under 21 final. Coincidentall...

T'is a modern day record anyway. From memory the only one who would come near would be Damien Martin who's first semi-final was in 1964 and who's last was in 1986. St. Rynagh's missed out on one semi final in that time, that being 1977 breaking the continuity. I see its going to be Brian Whelehans 2...

The Midland Tribune is the staple diet around here. It’s generally good except for the ‘North Tipp Topics’, the pandering to Brendan Parsons and Derek Fanning’s accounts of climbing Kilimanjaro! I have also recently discovered the Express online at http://www.offalytoday.ie following a link posted o...

It was announced over the public address in O’Connor Park on Saturday evening that both finals have been put back a week – the football to October 7th and the hurling to the 14th as a result of the postponed Birr – Tullamore quarter final tie. Kilcormac certainly have hand picked their team. All bar...
