Re: Joe McDonagh cup
we might differ on somethings, but I have to agree with the above post, and no disrespect or anything to anyone associated with Tullamore or its environs, as an avid Offaly hurling supporter I have to say, even personally, the journeys to Tullamore which I made in the initial days soon dried up, so ...

Re: Joe McDonagh cup
some good valid points made, like many here, I don't mind collective criticizing of a team/panel, but all I am saying is I see people, not here too much thankfully, saying player X wouldn't make our Junior team etc. etc..while I am sure player x doesn't give two tonks what any of us say here, I was ...

Offaly hurling panel for Antrim & Kerry games
Ok, so Joachim is now at the helm, with his backroom team in place, please give due respects to players currently on the panel (please don't slate them heres saying this one or that one isn't good enough, they have committed and have been there through a lot in recent times) leaving the current pane...

Re: Joe McDonagh cup
no more than most above, all make very valid and proper points, no word of selectors, I am thinking he will probably bring in some of his Coolderry contingent with him, a Lusmagh man surely (not sure what John Troy is at at the moment or if he would be suited)...he would have a few wingmen and may g...

Re: Joe McDonagh cup
to be honest reading all above, and all that has happened Offaly hurling, not only over the last few years, but going back to the 2000 All Ireland when many believe was the beginning of the end..Ill go back a little further, and the leinster finals of 1998,99, and 2000, we were well beaten in one or...

Re: Joe McDonagh cup
having chatted an avid hurling fan who was at Saturdays game, he informs me even he has now accepted Offaly are "gone" for the foreseeable future. First touch was ferociously poor and fitness was, well he said he couldn't believe it. Coaching and fitness will of course fix the forementione...

Re: Offaly V Westmeath -predict the result/score
Westmeath did win promotion be it from Division 2A, where we are replacing them next season, we played in 1B against stronger opposition, which yes, we were not able to match and hence got relegated, but I did think our decent showing last week against Laois, would trigger a bit of moral and team pl...

Re: Joe McDonagh cup
Lordy me, Ime geting lambasted elsewhere for daring to predict an Offaly win there during the week, where did I get my prediction from?...Westmeath did win promotion ve it from Division 2A, where we are replacing them next season, we played in 1B against slightly stronger opposition, which yes, we w...

Re: Meath v Offaly 12th May 2019 @3pm Navan
Isnt it kind of scary to think lesser teams (such as Offaly) may not win a provincial final again (at least anytime soon), realistically, we wont win an All Ireland (again anytime soon)..so once the weaker teams get knocked out in their province, they get a few qualifier games, eventually getting be...

Re: Joe McDonagh cup
I would imagine we are slight favourites, we have a game under our belt and performed pretty decently (I know we lost but Laois would be the strongest in it in my view)...having said Offaly are favourites, I think we will struggle abit, but should win....if we don't we can throw our hats at it..

Re: Joe McDonagh cup
all due repsects to Westmeath, Kerry & Antrim but going on form, the Laois game was the one I, and I think a few knew might be the hardest. Westmeath will be very hard beat too, but we SHOULD be beating them, Kerry, and with a bit of a puff Antrim, but having lost one game its going to be tough....

Re: Offaly V Meath LSFC - FT score prediction
credit where it is due, all will know of how skeptical I was of us putting in a decent shift and getting sufficient scores to win, I could not attend yesterday and while we still lost, by all accounts it was a great performance and we could and probably should have won the game..its a great bounce g...

Re: Offaly V Meath LSFC - FT score prediction
very possible, we might get a moral victory maybe alright....I doubt it..hope I am wrong, as I say, just cannot see us scoring freely enough to win...
