Re: Senior A Hurling 2019
Does anyone know the ins and outs of Seir Kieran's proposal to have a 10 team SHC?? It seemed to get no traction? I'd presume the key gist was that Seir Kieran get to be senior again. The rest was minor detail, in their eyes at least. Facetiousness aside for the minute, that's pretty shameless stuf...

Re: U21 Hurling
Timber your name is very apt. You have a chip on both shoulders with regards to players from "North" Offaly not getting a fair deal in the past. The facts speak for themselves. It's only in the last few years we have really seen clubs from there making a big impact in the A grades at under...

https://www.offalyexpress.ie/news/sport/317107/opinion-offaly-deserve-to-be-relegated-so-enough-with-the-whinging.html This guy is getting a bit too big for his boots. Who is he? Apart from.ignoring good performances in 2011 and 2012 I would have to agree with what he is saying. I find it embarrass...

Re: Newspaper Articles
All fundraising for the Faithful Fields was independent of the County Board. The county board were handed the keys on the day of the official opening. It was all spearheaded by Kieran Keenaghan, with others such as Duignan, Colm Cummins, I think, etc. The well is small in Offaly, but the faithful f...

Re: 2018 NHL
Fitzgibbon teams are under massive pressure to win. They do not care where you are from as long as you are good enough . I couldn't agree more. A lot of nonsense being spouted here about Offaly players being discriminated against. I see it a different way. Because of our low standard now, our bette...

Re: Club Managements 2018
Late in the day not to have management teams in place for Raheen, Rynaghs, Walsh Island and Brigids The Rynaghs football job is a bit of a poisoned chalice, unfortunately, as one of the Rynaghs lads on this said, it’s a dual club in name only. There was talks of them regrading, thank God that’s not...

Re: Football Draw
It's pure pig headedness from the football counties who refuse to accept reality. No one has an issue with a tiered hurling championship as it makes perfect sense. Nearly all hurling teams have something to play for every year.
On a side issue, can we bring the Dubs to birr if we are playing them!

Re: Numbers
Why does Seán Ryan play with Birr? He's in the Crinkle area, is he not? Or is it a parish thing. My opinion on the parish issue is whichever club's catchment area you're in, you should play with that club. Brings more competitiveness when every club has every player available to them. No room for e...

Re: Offaly vs. Waterford 2017 Hurling Qualifier
According to any member of the Offaly senior panel that I have spoken to, Eamon Kelly was held in the highest regard. He introduced the hurlers to GPS tracking and had a very professional setup with him. However the manner of his departure (regardless of who you believe), and where he subsequently ...

Re: Hurling development squads [Split from Walsh Cup]
Was down home for club training last night and got a full report on the game mind you all 2nd hand info so make what you want of it. By all accounts the team was a mish mash of some of this years minor panel, some 17s and some 16s. A lot of lads exam tied so cant be part of this set up, injuries di...

Re: National Hurling League 2017
Are ye mad. There are only five group games. Football gets seven. The system guarantees everyone at least six, but still less than what football teams get. The games to training ratio is already brutal. Knock out the quarter and semi finals and it will be worse. Not too mention the fact that there ...

Re: National Hurling League 2017
:D It hardly takes a genius to point out that we are where we are, Offaly hurling has been on a massive spiral downwards since we took a massive beating in the All Ireland final to Kilkenny back in 2000, in the time since, we've never once appointed a high profile manager who could come in and bring...
