Re: Divisional sides

A few things people need to note if they want this to turn into a serious discussion. It can be done, but don't forget that Kerry is not a dual culture. (1) First and foremost, it won't surprise anyone to learn that if you are a county footballer, it's accepted that you probably won't play club hurl...

Re: Byrne v Duignan

Duignan raised 800k apparently for the faithful fields. He was also part of getting ocp redeveloped. He has good business connections. I think he is worth a shot for reasons I outlined already in this thread. Lads are always giving out about County board and he is a credible alternative and lads he...

Re: Byrne v Duignan

Lone shark I did not lambast him once in that post I have to give it to you your a great man to put words in other peoples mouth. Your first line was... Okay so I wont give you all the negatives on why Tommy is not the man to take us forward I think anyone with any brains would realise he is not. A...

Re: Byrne v Duignan

Maybe a good local journalist should interview both parties and do an article on them in the paper. I think there is a lot of interest in this particular election. I think Tommy is too conservative and we need new blood. Duignan has already approached clubs with his plans and some of them I have ou...

Re: Byrne v Duignan

Nobody said Offaly hurling is in a good place. It could be argued however, that it is in a better place than it was two or three years ago. That's not an open and shut case, but the debate is there to be had - and a "burn it all down and start again" approach is probably not ideal give nthat the evi...

Re: Byrne v Duignan

Beating a tier one county (Dublin) away from home in a knockout championship game. Measured by the standards of the 1990's, it would be a poor year. Measured by the standards of the 2010's, it's possibly the best single result we had at that grade (including U-21, obviously). It's not exactly enough...

Re: Byrne v Duignan

At this stage of proceedings, my understanding is that Michael Duignan is canvassing clubs privately. That's a perfectly reasonable course of action, entirely in keeping with the democratic process. The problem for those of us on here who don't happen to be club chairmen or secretaries (or at least ...

Re: Leinster Under 20 Hurling Championship

Not to be going off on a tangent here, but who do players from Skenach/Killavilla hurl with (presuming there are any!).

Shinrone I guess?

Re: Meeting In Tullamore

Would shamrocks(rahan and mucklagh) and clodiagh gaels ( killiegh killuirn) not be the same as st rynaghs(cloghan banagher) if that's the case?. how does st rynaghs get two chances to vote if there under the one banner They're not under the same banner though - they're effectively the same as Ferba...

Re: Meeting In Tullamore

Rynaghs football and Rynaghs hurling are definitely two clubs, so I'm guessing Brosna Gaels are only a combination team, as opposed to a club that affiliates as a separate entity. By my reckoning it's: Football Only Tubber Rynaghs (F) Durrow Ballycumber Doon Erin Rovers Ferbane Shannonbridge Rhode E...

Re: Senior A Hurling 2019

I dont agree LS that they sat back I think think Banagher went up another level for the last 15 and Birr didnt have enough in reserve to match them, we couldnt win ball around the middle third. Ah there were definitely lots of times in the last quarter when birr had just two or three players inside...

Re: Senior A Hurling 2019

More than a bit harsh to judge Rynaghs by the standards of Cuala or Ballyhale right now. They set out to be the best team in Offaly this year, they had to do it while missing a couple of very important players in the big games, and they did it. There were stages against Belmont and Birr - particular...

Re: Senior A Hurling 2019

just thinking of stats and without checking but I think Rynaghs and Belmont returned their lowest scores of the campaign yesterday...goes to show what can happen on any given day.. To be fair, that low scoring was entirely about weather. It was the same for both teams and all that, but the fact tha...

Re: Senior A Hurling 2019

Bitterly disappointed to see Belmont lose out yesterday, I really thought they'd win it coming into the game but in the end, some incredible saves from Conor Clancy made the difference. His penalty save in particular was truly incredible, and it would have been hard to see Rynagh's coming back to wi...

Re: Meeting In Tullamore

Lone Shark it seems I was right about the committee they will contest positions... Michael Duignan going for chairman which is great Yep, I'm delighted to hear it. When I talked to Dervill Dolan he didn't give any indication that this group planned to run candidates, so I had to take that on faith,...
