Re: Football Review Committee Survey

My suggestions were: Restrict the handpass. Allow the pick up from the ground. Teams to be 13 a side. Restructure the championship to say 32 teams. The present structure based on the provincial system, based on the number of counties, means some teams start their campaign much later than others. Ba...

Re: Football Review Committee Survey

I sent this to Eugene McGee as my rule change suggestions when he looked for them in his column in the indo earlier in the year.By the way I dont think there is a huge amount wrong with the game.I have really enjoyed this years championship but a few tweaks would make it more entertaining. The bigg...

Re: Football Review Committee Survey

Have 4 conferences with 8 teams in each play 7 matches. The league of the year before is used to set the s...

Re: Football Review Committee Survey

Ya I filled it in and I sent them an email on a few details aswell. Here's what I proposed for new football championship structure: While I do enjoy the Provincial Championships and I feel they give a tangible aim for most counties at the start of the year (not every team can aim to win the All-Ire...

Re: Revolution not reform needed in underage hurling

Johnny Flaherty and Ray Flannery were the head men in my time with the hurling development panels. Both are good men, love their hurling. They were great at teaching the basic skills of the game but never expanded on that.

Re: Revolution not reform needed in underage hurling

Once the other counties lose the knack of catching the ball and controlling possession, we'll bate the jaysus out of them on the gr...

Re: County Football (Potentials from junior and inter clubs)

Liam Brennan was in with the county seniors before. Was brought training and the rest but never given a chance to actually play competitively. (has to drain confidence) This notion that a player isnt big enough, surely the idea of getting them in at a young age is to bulk them up, if they have the d...

Re: Offaly vs Cork - SHC Qualifier Rnd 2 07/07/2012

Its wasn't mean to take away from how good Shane Dooley is. My point was that having Dooley and Carroll in the one Forward Line is madness. This should not takeaway from how good Dooley is and how important he is to us. Every player has thing they can improve on. Dooley has a bad habit of letting h...
