Re: Offaly Intermediate Club Hurling Championship 2023
I think that is very harsh they were more than competive senior in 22 and ran some teams under 10 points. The lack depth yes but I think they wouldn't be far off tullamore Kinnitty and Clareen. Thanks for that reasoned contribution. We are a small club providing sporting opportunities for our playe...

Re: Offaly Intermediate Club Hurling Championship 2023
Clodiagh Gaels have had a couple of seasons at Senior A and were out of their depth across them all. I can’t see any development changing that. For example the team who was relegated from Senior A this year beat CG by 17 points in the 2022 relegation final. So if the worst team in the 2023 senior c...

Re: Offaly Intermediate Club Hurling Championship 2023
Bray lost all ireland semi final in Tullamore last year to eventual champions Monaleen. I was at the game, they went very close to beating them. An all ireland win would see the following year Wicklow champions compete in Leinster senior club championship, just as happened with Naas. It can only be...

A 10 point defeat. I think Tullamore would have lost to Naas today.private joker wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2023 4:52 pm Summerhill got their back sides handed to them by Naas.

Re: Club football championship 2023
Tullamore haven’t produced an inter county forward since Paddy Fenning in the 70s. You’d swear they had half the county forward line playing for them the way some people go on. They nearly won today the same way they always win. Tight at the back and majority of scores coming from their backs. If t...

Re: Club football championship 2023
As far as I am aware, Tullamore have never won a Leinster club championship game. I am open to correction on that though. If true, that is actually shocking. Drew a game years ago but lost the replay. There hurlers got to a leinster final I’m open to correction, but I think Tullamore’s only Leinste...

Re: Club football championship 2023
I think it's as 50/50 a game as it could be. I think home advantage will tip it for Tullamore and with this weather it could suit Tullamore's defensive set up. As much as id prefer we played attacking football with some of the players we have, its become a results game. I hate to disagree Townie, b...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
Be some achievement for kk to win leinster. Lot of good teams in that competition. Find it very unusual why there was such social media pushing of the SBP venue, the parade been done, entertainment etc. That should be done regardless of the venue. Waa anything of the like done at the football final...

Well done birr on a great day but the hurling Was as my father said to me yesterday. Was In a different Parrish . Roll on January Different level certainly. Mundy probably played more than poor Shinrone yesterday. I really hope they can come back from yesterday’s big defeat, and compete in Offaly hu...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
A great day out and so well ran. Super crowd as for the hurling we might not talk about it unfortunately. Well done kk the start of something big. Well done to Birr on today’s arrangements. All well done, even had online payment option for programmes and refreshments. The game sadly was over as a c...

Re: Severe lack of Offaly O’Neills Gear on website
I see a new Offaly jersey is on the way according to the Offaly section of the O’Neills website. I’m surprised by this as in the recent past we have allowed our jersey to complete a 3 year cycle and then change. The current iteration has only done 2. Anyways hopefully it will be released (along wit...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
Agree with what was said above, the two best teams are into the final and there’s very little to separate them. I think the weather will have more than a major bearing on who comes out on top and will actually decide the destiny of the Sean Robbins. If there’s been a week of rain and the ground is ...
